Mama ER, 1922-2007

Mama died last night.

Prayers, good vibes, karma, etc. welcome, as usual. My brother and sisters, and her grandchildren and others grieve, but we are celebrating Mama ER's long life and the blessing she was to so many people for so long.

Mama would have been 85 March 11. She willingly made the decision to have the heart surgery Dec. 1 that unfortunately led to her decline. It was a gamble, but one she was willing to take because her quality of life had grown so poor. She died at rest and at peace. Her legacy lives in the hearts, memories and lives of all who knew her.

After the confusion came, she would ask me, "Who's taking care of Daddy?" meaning my dad, who she cared for for 20 years before he died in 1989. She missed him and loved him dearly. My mama was the best example I know of commitment and how to keep loving when the going gets tough and you get tired.

Proverbs says of a noble wife, among other things: "Her children arise and call her blessed ..."

Mama ER was blessed. I know this because while she was not perfect, for no one is, she was a sweet, sweet blessing to me and everyone she met. And that's the true measure of a blessed one, I think: The level to which such blessing is passed to others.

By that standard, Mama ER was truly great.

ER defends himself on charges of heresy regarding homosexuality and the Church

By The Erudite Redneck

I stand accused, because of my position on homosexuality and the Church, of being accepting, or blind, to sin -- I deny it. I utterly deny it.

I write the word "homosexuality" and people turn it into "homosexual acts." There is a major difference. The Bible addresses the latter, and not the former, as sure as it mentions Ezekiel's wheel yet shows no cognizance of the science of flight. (That's not the best example, but I hope you get what I mean).

To accuse a sincere believer, as I am, whether any of you believe it or not, of promoting evil in the Church, is dangerous. To make such assertions is to skirt blasphemy, if that is understood to be attributing acts of the Holy Spirit to the Devil.

For I assert that it *is* the Holy Spirit, working through my reading of the sacred texts, and my own observations and experiences, that has led me where I am regarding homosexuality.

If you see me as in error, well, then, I expect nothing less than prayer, not attacks.

The link is below. I invite all to see that whether or not we agree, I do not take this issue lightly, I do not look askance at sin.

I do believe, as surely as Luther and Zwingli did in their times and for their purposes, that there is a New Reformation under way in Christendom regarding what science, psychology and theology have to say about homosexuality and the church specifically, and what the Bible *is* exactly in general.

By my reckoning, it's the equivalent of about 1530, which means there is a long ways to go.

Here's the link.

Note to self: Do NOT read the definitive book about the Donner Party while eating lunch

From George R. Stewart, Ordeal by Hunger: The Story of the Donner Party (Boston: Houghton Miffline, 1936), 133.

"That morning (it was Sunday the twenty-seventh) they set about the matter more systematically. They remained in camp during this and the next two days. Once the taboo was broken, things were easier. The Indians, too, joined with them. They stripped the flesh from the bodies, roasted what they needed to eat, and dried the rest for carrying with them. They observed only one last sad propriety; no member of a family touched his own dead. But the strain was scarcely the less for that. For as she sat by the fire Mrs. Foster suddenly realized that spitted upon a stick and broiling over the coals she saw the heart of her cherished younger brother."

Now *that's* how to write history. But not to be read over a Philly steak sandwich.

'Guns don't kill people, doctors do'

From the Dallas Ranch Branch of the extended ER family, who got it from who knows where. Not checked. Well worth considering.

For the record, I own one of each: a rifle, a pistol and a shotgun. Haven't used them in years. I once owned a derringer. I also have a BB pistol. I underwent gun safety training in the early 1990s even though I would've been grandfathered in.

Bottom line: "Cold, dead fingers," etc.

PHYSICIANS:

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.

(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.

(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Department of Health & Human Services

HANDGUNS:

Guns:

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000 (yes, that's 80 million).

(B) Accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500.

C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is 0.000188.

Statistics courtesy of the FBI

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do."

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.

A concerned citizen.

Fat Tuesday, ER style

Lordy, I have *got* to learn to read between the lines when Dr. ER is talking to me!

"I need you to take me to the hospital for a procedure on my knee and then come get me afterward," which sounds like I might get to get most of a day's work done on this here laptop, actually means, "You probably should just take the day off of work, hon, because I am going to have surgery on my knee and it will take most of the day, mainly because the local hospital, unlike the fancy-schmancy hospital Mama ER was in, does not have wi-fi, plus you are going to be coming and going a few times, and running my four prescriptions to the busiest drugstore in Oklahoma County right through the gut of town at the height of rush hour, you will get impatient, and a little upset, and it will suck."

Sigh.

Dr. ER came out fine with her second knee surgery in less than two weeks. She is in there on the bed with her left hind leg perched on a stack of pillas to keep her kneee above her heart, and she is only slightly loopy from the drugs.

I am on the front porch, and while I am not quite a Redneck in repose, I am relaxing, finally, with a ceegar and the next-to-last glass of Dickel on the rocks -- or maybe the next-to-next-last glass of Dickel on the rocks -- I will have until Easter.

Gulp.

Spousal shootings to rise in Oklahoma

Yes, I am a little cynical about this.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A Republican lawmaker hopes to reduce the state's high divorce rate by allowing "covenant marriages" that would make it more difficult for couples to split up.

Read all about it, from the News Examiner-Enterprise in Bartlesville.

Somebody tell me if I'm too cynical, but why would anyone want to try to save themselves from themselves by trapping themselves with themselves this way?

Reminds me of the old line: "Oklahomans will vote against liquor-by-the-drink as long as they can stumble to the polls." Which was true right up until they sobered up and voted *for* it 20-odd years ago.

"Oklahomans will defend the sanctity of marriage as long as they can beat their wives and get away with it (the men) and cheat on their husbands with the yard boy (the women)."

Cynical, I am.

Here's *the* source, apparently, on the Covenent Marriage movement.

And on the 86th day of Christmas ...

... we got the tree down!

"This will be remembered as the Christmas we took the tree down while we watched the Daytona 500," Dr. ER observed.

"Yep. And I resealed the Christmas tree box with duct tape we bought when the government told us to," said I, adding: "Back when we believed what the Bush administration told us," adding, "If Dubya tells the press he loves Laura, they better check it out."

Tree down, three days before Ash Wednesday. Man.

Next saga on the Erudite Redneck channel! ER gives up Dickel -- and all whiskey and bourbon -- for Lent!

"On, no, Tony wrecked!" Dr. ERjust announced from the other room, noting that they interrupted a commercial to break back into the race (how cool is *that*?).

Dang it. Tony Stewart, not Dale Jr., carries the Spirit of the Intimidator.

Down next: the tree! Ice-T will be heartbroken!

Brudder ER said Mama ER was fully awake most of this morning, still trying to talk, or make sounds anyway. And, he said the respiratory people say her lungs are just dang near clear. She's on a bit of oxygen just every once in a while, he said.

'Homophobia Defense: Church Views'

SATIRE ALERT

The original, from Citizen Link Daily Update, is in the first comment because I couldn't figure out how to link to it.

For something historical to compare with Christian views against homosexuality, see Eric L. McKitrick, ed. Slavery Defended: The Views of the Old South (Emglewood Cliffs, N.J., Prentice-Hall Inc., 1963).

Begin satire:

Black Group to Protest Christian Colleges
by Wendy Cloyd, assistant editor
Activists object to schools' racial codes.

Black-activist group RaceForce is organizing protests of Christian colleges because of their codes that forbid racial miscegenation.

This is the second year in a row for the so-called "Equality Ride," and this year RaceForce plans to double its efforts. Two busloads of protesters, one for each half of the country, will target 32 Christian colleges and universities.

Brad Lau, vice president for student life at George Fox University in Newberg, Ore., which is scheduled for an April 5 protest, said the activists disagree with the university's stand that God intends for the races to be separate.

"That would exclude not just racial being" he said, "but racial intermarriage and other social contact, blacks depicted in movies and other media -- all those kinds of attitudes and perspectives."

George Fox students, faculty and staff, Lau said, are preparing to meet the riders with the love of Christ.

"While we clearly disagree," he said, "our goal is not to be mean-spirited, but to engage in a civil discourse characterized by humility, love and grace -- and also firmly planted in truth."

Phillip de Haan, director of media relations for Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich., said his campus will be well prepared for an April 24 protest.

"This is the second year that we've had what we call a racial series, which addresses all kinds of issues, including the issue of Negroes," he said. "That had been planned even before we knew about the Equality Ride visit."

In addition to preparing students for the inevitable discussions that will occur about God's plan for the races, the college is inviting protesters to the school's Sunday night worship service.

Caleb Price, racial-issues analyst at Focus on the Family, said students on campuses along the route should be prepared.

"If you see your school, or your child's school, on the RaceForce itinerary, find out how officials intend to respond," he said. "Make sure students are armed with the facts."

Activists will tell emotional stories, and they'll twist Scripture to fit their agenda, Price said.

"Students need to find out what Scripture truly says about the issue of race," he said. "They need to be ready to dispel myths -- such as that of the black gene -- with facts."

Talk about Signs and Wonders!

Green Baptists!

DALLAS (AP) -- Texas' largest Baptist group is taking a rare step into environmental advocacy, working to block Gov. Rick Perry's plan to speed the approval process for 18 new coal-fired power plants.

The Christian Life Commission, the public policy arm of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, is mobilizing Baptists against the coal-fired plants and urging the convention's 2.3 million members to voice their opposition to state lawmakers.

The money quotes:

Paynter said Texas Baptists' involvement stems from concern over how dirty air is affecting the health of church members.

That's a start!

"We have a longer-term goal, which is about the stewardship of creation."

Amen, and Amen!

"I don't think it's an anomaly, but I really wonder if it's going to gain much traction any time soon," he said. "It would take a reorientation of how we Baptists understand our place in this world, and enlarging our whole definition of what salvation is."

Ha go je ki la ma fa so la ti da ha ha ha -- ahem! (Sorry! I got so excited I spoke in tongues! ... [Settle down. It's a joke, son.])

GloriaWilliams whacks ER (and feels better)

:::EDITS THROUGHOUT (BOLDED IN GLORIA'S REMARKS IMMEDIATELY BELOW) AND ADDITIONS AT BOTTOM:::

Is this true?

GloriaWilliams said...

And who called you to that, Redneck? (The Spirit of Christ calls me to oppose all forms of Fundamentalism.) It sure wasn't God despite all your bellowing about your special personal relationship to Him. (Bellowing? I hide neither my faith nor my sins on this blog). You go around telling people to not judge when you do it everytime you comment anywhere. You go on about love but can't show it anyone who disagrees with you. (Sometimes this is true, but rarely, actually, in the overall scheme of things.) As always, I find myself descending to your level. What a talent that must be to drag someone down. Do you notice that Slim -- an openly gay man -- doesn't say the world should be filled with more Christians like you? Despite the fact you use your blog to defend his lifestyle every chance you get. (This is not what Slim said. And I have said virtually nothing about "lifestyle."). Why is that? (Ask Slim.) And yes, I consider his lifestyle wrong, but I don't force my view on him or ask him to change, believing that God and true Christians (!!!) like Tech will help him grow spiritually.

I'm sorry, Tech. I knew better than to comment on this thread as soon as I saw his name. You probably will want to delete this and please do if you think it best. I feel better for having said what I've said even though I know my words mean less than spit to him. (Bitter and untrue).

I won't read this thread again, Tech. I think I'd better stay away from the blog for a time. This is certainly not good for my peace of mind or my walk with God.

Wed Feb 14, 11:16:00 PM CST

WTH? I think Gloria has embarrassed herself.

Here's the post, from TECH, that started it.

It was a very interesting, and civil, thread, right up until Gloria freaked out and jumped ugly on me.

And in case Gloria or TECH deletes her comment, or TECH disables the post, the whole thing is in the first comment.

EDIT: AT TECH'S REQUEST, I'VE DELETED HIS ORIGINAL POST FROM THE COMMENTS. THE COMMENTS ON HIS POST ARE NOW THE FIFTH COMMENT TO THIS POST -- AND IF IT'S ALL VERY CONFUSING, CHALK IT UP TO (another edit at TECH's request) TECH WANTING TO KEEP TOTAL CONTROL OF HIS WORDS.

Sheesh.

'We do not pretend ...'

Invocation this morning at First Christian Church, Stillwater, Okla., where I visited:

"O God, we do not pretend to come to you with more faith than we have. We do not pretend to be more righteous than we are. We are all beggars here in search of bread. So feed us, we ask, that we would be filled on your grace and love and become more faithful followers of Jesus ..."

Great-Great-Grandpa Redneck and his wife were charter members of a Disciples of Christ church, meeting in someone's home in southern Indiana, about 15 years after the founding of the denomination, before they headed west to Indian Territory.

Somewhere along the way, the Rednecks turned Baptist, specifically Southern Baptist.

I could easily become a Disciples of Christ member:

"The Bible is our primary witness to the presence and activity of the living God in the world. It is the responsibility of each Christian to bring the text into dialogue with Christian tradition, experience and reason in understanding its authority for today."

And here, on a heavier note, is a bunch of crap I stumbled across awhile ago. It's what I get for reading a Focus on the Family newsletter. I present it as an indictment of itself. I think the internal contradictions and illogic are self-evident.

On homosexuality and gender, and the Bible.

A good friend jokingly asked me the other day, after seeing the topics of homosexuality and Christianity in this space a few times, "Are you gay?"

No. But gays are among the "least of these" in this society, and I've repented of judging them any more harshly than I judge myself or any others, and I've added my blogvoice to the growing chorus within the greater Church calling for openness.

On Mama ER and buyin' hootch in Arkansaw

FORT SMITH, Ark. -- The trip here like to did her in, but Mama ER is resting comfortably now, a few miles away from where I sit in a coffee shop in Fort Smith.

Her lungs got real clogged up on the three-hour ambulance ride, with no heated mist to help her breath. Oxygen levels dropped precipitously.

They sent a scope into her lungs this morning and hoed 'em out. She's OK now. Minimally responsive, which is the way she was before leaving OKC. A physical therapist was coming in as I was leaving awhile ago. Big Brudder is there now.

God bless ya, Big Brudder. Your long row is just beginning. He's already had his first "Mr. Redneck, we need your permission to do a procedure" moment, last night. Been there, done that about a half-dozen times, myself.

On buyin' hootch:

So, awhallago, I stopped by a liquor store where I have been buying adult beverages since before it was legal for me to do so, to see if they carried this dadgum wine that I have fallen for, and that I meant to bring with me to share with Big Brudder over a steak, and to give to my friend K. Kat, whose birthday is tomorrow -- and which, of course, I forgot.

"It's a Spanish wine. Carchelo, Monastrell, 2004 is best but 2003 is good, too," said I to the lady runnin' the joint today.

She'd never heard of it, but allows as to how she does carry a few Spanish wines, and leads me over to the rack. I look. No luck.

She hands me The Book of Wines the State of Arkansas Allows its Liquor Stores to Sell, which I did not know existed. It's not on the list.

"Well, I look and see what you do have. I'll find something, I'm sure," said I.

Said she, "Ya know, I need to carry some more Spanish wines, what with all the Spanish movin' in around here."

Uh, those are Mexican-Americans, or otherwise Hispanic, Ma'am, I do not say.

I loves me some Arkansas. :-)

Eastbound and down

Well. They didn't bother to tell the first ambulance crew that Mama ER had the staph thing, so they had to send for another "truck" -- that's what the EMTS called the ambulance -- and crew.

One of the EMTs on the first crew has asthma and she said she couldn't wear a mask for the three hours it'll take to get Mama ER where she's going, plus she has a newborn at home and was worried about the staph and I don't blame her.

Which goes to remind you that there are people involved in this, so join me in praying -- hoping, crossing fingers, sending vibes, etc. -- for 'em all.

The second ambulance was loading Mama ER up when I left at 12:30 p.m., about 45 minutes ago. She's on the road by now. I'm heading out the door now with Mama's Christmassy gifts and other personal belongings.

On this, the 69th day after her hospitalization here (not counting the week-plus at the hospital in Fort Smith before she came to OKC for surgery).

Mama ER was not responsive this morning, nor last night when Dr. ER and I went to see her -- but she was the day before. It's just hit-and-miss.

I told the ambulance crew to hit every pot hole and speed bump between here and Arkansas to wake her up.

Pshweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwww!

Pant, pant. Gasp. (See below. Was holding my breath!)

Mama ER heads to a long-term acute-care hopsittle in Fort Smith, Ark., which is, like, home, tomorrow!

I was holding my breath until I got confirmation. The case manager gal told me just after 1 p.m. that Mama ER been tentatively accepted. After last Friday's heartbreak, I wasn't telling anyone until I got the second call, which just came.

Woo hoo! That means she'll get good care, and some physical therapy and speech therapy, rather than the babysitting she'd've gotten at a nursing home.

And it means ER is able to pass the baton of daily Mama ER care and worry to Big Brudder, who is more than ready, and able, with time to do so! A family friend is even a nurse at this hopsittle, so there's another set of eyes.

Dr. ER will don gloves, gown and mask (still the staph) and go with me to see Mama ER in a little while.

In the morning, I'll go early and get her Christmassy presents and pictures and other personal belongings, and bring 'em with me as I head east. Then it's back to OKC tomorrow night. Then it's back east Wednesday night to do a separate Mama ER-related administrative-type thing, and I'm staying to have birthday drinks with an old friend.

Then it's to Stillwater on Saturday to watch the Bud Shootout with Bird and Dr. ER at Bird and Yankeebeau's place, spend the night and then watch OSU-OU bedlam wrestling Sunday afternoon, then home to collapse and get on with life.

I'm happy -- and I am so going to miss havin' my mama around. It's been 20-something years since I've been able to be so close to her.

But hey. She's in good enough shape to keep getting in better shape!

Going off the deep end

(Not what y'all think, I'll bet, considering ...) :-)

Luke 5:1-11.

PRAYER of CONFESSION today at my church.

Lord of Life, we come asking to be made worthy of our calling. Everywhere there is confusion about religion, and yet we still seem to be fishing in the shallow end of the pool. Remind us that we are not called to comfort, or to prosperity, or to personal assurances of salvation -- but to become your disciples. We may not prefer to cast our nets into the deep, but that's where you have called us. In Christ's name we pray, Amen.

"Jesus Call Us, O'er the Tumult"
(I LOVE this hymn, considerin' the ER extended family's recent tumults! --ER)

Jesus call us; o’er the tumult
of our life’s wild, restless sea,
day by day his clear voice soundeth,
saying, "Christian, follow me;"

As, of old, Saint Andrew heard it
by the Galilean lake,
turned from home and toil and kindred,
leaving all for his dear sake.

Jesus calls us from the worship
of the vain world’s golden store;
from each idol that would keep us,
saying, "Christian, love me more."

In our joys and in our sorrows,
days of toil and hours of ease,
still he calls, in cares and pleasures,
"Christian, love me more than these."

Jesus call us! By thy mercies,
Savior, may we hear thy call,
give our hearts to thine obedience,
serve and love thee best of all.

Happy Lord's Day, y'all.

ER outwrestled by Mama ER news -- it was sort of like a 'near arm-far leg takedown'

I swear, knowing what to expect next regarding Mama ER is like trying to anticipate the next part of speech the president will butcher.

Just now, one of the docs told me that the biggest worries with her are not the stroke, not the staph and not her heart, which is in the best shape it's been in in years. The biggest concern is her general poor health and the chance that she could get another secondary infection.

AND, he looked me in the eye -- after I told him I wanted honest prognoses -- and told me that she could walk again in three months, if she gets the right kind of therapy in the right place, and if she is willing.

He said that all the different stuff has to be considered when ascertaining "quality of life."

For example, if she were to remain on the feeding tube for the rest of her days, that would not necessarily be "unnecessarily prolonging" her life, IF the tube is in place because she cannot swallow, AND she is learning to walk again, AND she is "there."

My own observation is that she is as "there" as she was before the stroke -- acknowleging that she was confused even then, presumably because of hospital psychosis, which any of us would develop after facing what she has faced and been in the hopsittle so long.

The issue that drove me to drink -- actively, on purpose, and I ENJOYED crying into three manhattans and a shot of Maker's bourbon and getting my cigar soggy last night, IN PUBLIC -- has to do with logistics and the reality of the evils at the crossroads of medical science, government and free enterprise:

This hopsittle has been taking a hit on Mama ER since about her 10th day here -- and she got here on Nov. 1. The next place she will go will have to be willing to take a write-off, as well, on a lot of the expense.

What happened late yesterday was the hopsittle in Fort Smith, which was ready to take her on Wednesday, sort of balked, wanting to see how she fares this weekend. But what really sent me for a loop was the call I got later from a woman at the Oklahoma City location of the same brand of hopsittle in Fort Smith, asking hard questions, since the OKC hopsittle is the backup if the Fort Smith hopsittle can't take her -- and we all really want Mama ER to go back closer to home.

I'm at the hopsittle now. Mama is sitting up and opened her eyes when I spoke to her. I'll stay a couple of hours, then I'm going to Stillwater to pick up Bird and go watch Oklahoma State wrestlers in a dual with No. 2 Missouri.

Mama ER: Hurry up and wait

:::MAMA ER UPDATE:::

Jesus. It is fixin' to get real complicated. Medicare-wise. Her exact condition-wise. Emotion-wise. Hard, hard decisions-wise. I am, in fact, at Maker's, self-fricking-medicating. Sue me. (The wonders of modren technology *do* boggle my weary mind.) And that "Jesus" ain't in vain. It's the start of a prayer that I don't know how to finish. ... This bein' a piano bar, the piano player just asked me what I'd like to hear. "Something melancholy," I told her ...

:::END MAMA ER UPDATE:::

&*$%#@*&!!

This just in.

Now, we won't know until Monday morning whether Mama ER goes to the Fort Smith hopsittle on Monday. The receiving hopsittle wants to know how she fares here over the weekend -- and they won't know whether there is a bed for her until then.

&*$%#@*&!!

&*$%#@*&!!!!

&*$%#@*&!!!!!!!!

Not that I want to see Mama ER go! It's just hard not knowing -- not that I haven't had a buttload of *that* lately.

Sigh.

I need a drink.

P.S. Dr. ER is on her way to Santa Fe, N.M., on bidness. I might go to one of my favorite waterin' holes, Maker's Cigar & Piano Bar, (review), after work ...

P.P.S. Mama ER made little squeaky noises yesterday when they plugged her trach to let her try to talk. Today when they did it, she made one big deep noise. It's progress. Baby steps ...

He's got the whole world in His hands, He's got the whole world in His hands, He's got the whole world in His hands but He's wearing asbestos gloves

Wakeup call. God help us help ourselves. But Gawdlemighty, I wish the goldarn AP would've quoted ANYBODY was Jacques Chirac. Not because he's necessarily wrong, but because too many people in this country will stop reading the story below immediately.

You know, before this is all said and done, those who take actions that harm the planet will be treated like the criminals they are. Crimes against the planet will be seen, finally, as crimes against humanity -- and a sin against God and His creation.

By JOHN LEICESTER
Associated Press Writer

PARIS (AP) - The bleak outlook of a major new report on climate change shifted the onus onto governments, even mankind, to stop prevaricating and truly act, with dire warnings Friday from around the world that drastic, rapid change is needed _ not least from the United States.

"We are on the historic threshhold of the irreversible," warned French President Jacques Chirac, who called for an economic and political "revolution" to save the planet.

"While climate changes run like a rabbit, world politics move like a snail: either we accelerate or we risk a disaster," said Italy's environment minister, Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio.

Campaigners and governments pressed industrial nations, some specifically naming the United States, to significantly cut greenhouse-gas emissions. Others said the threat was not simply to the environment, but to international peace, prosperity and development.

Lite-Brite causes panic in Boston; Osama bin Laden laughs ass off; World chortles; ER throws up

I can't believe this, actually. Dr. and I just sat in awe of the news last night. And to hear the officials threatening to sue-prosecute-fine THE CARTOON NETWORK is just wack.

As he often does when it comes to such socio-cultural-psychic breakdowns, Drlobojo said it best in an e-mail:

Have we all lost out friggin minds???????? Attached are pictures of the "Suspicious Packages" and the unknown "Electronic Devices" that caused the Boston police and the Massastupid State Police to blow one up as though it was an IED and damn near close down the city even after they had 6 of them in their possession.

Even me, 62 year old me, knows what the talking walking Meatwade, FrenchFries, Malt, and Moonite characters on that particular stupid Cartoon Network show look like.

Holy shit. Have we turned into such raving cowards that a battery-operated "Lite-Brite" sign scares us into stupidity????

Then they arrest the poor slob that put the "suspicious packages" up for the Cartoon Network and want to evicerate Turner Broadcasting for "their" stupidity. The frackin (sic) Facsists are so embarassed at their overreactions that they want to make putting the signs out as a capital crime so as to cover their own stupid collective asses.

I mean, Holy Ryder Truck, Batman! What will become of us if we keep this scaredy cat shit up? Whatever happened to the "Land of the Free and the home of the BRAVE"?

What he said.
