Well, if I were you I wouldn't feel bad about not being here. We are now in a declared State of Emergency. All of the Interstates are closed down in all directions. Stranded drivers are being taken by transit buses to shelters along the roads.
There has been a 50 car pile up in Midwest City by Rose State today. The snow is still coming down and blowing into drifts. It actually was blowing into the house through very small cracks this morning. the temperature is 21 degrees with wind gust up to 60mph. What that translate to in wind chill I don't know. Even police cars are being abandoned as they run out of gas or get stuck in drifts. Response time is now 6 hours. Airplanes parked a Will Rogers are being tied down to the runway or tow trucks to keep them from being blown away from the terminal
The wind is simply sucking the heat out of everything.
Good news, we didn't have the requisite pre-storm ice storm so the power is on in most places.
Nope, Houston is not a bad place to be today. Don't hurry home. You can't get here.

Yeah, I'll take balmy over lizards any day of the week. Any day of the year. Even Christmas.
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
Now who could of ever guessed that this blizzard would strand Senator Jim in Tulsa and make him miss the Health Care Reform Bill's Closure vote?
Now was this God's little joke on Senator Tom for blocking the "Stipulation Vote" of Senator Byrd or for Tom's call to pray that a certain Senator fall prey to his ills and not be there for the vote that the stipulation was denied for? Or maybe it just a higher power pricking Senator Jim for not making a better showing against the climate change advocates in copenhagen like he should of.
Dang this is really just like Oklahoma politics ain't it?
