Oh, say, can UCC? 100,000 for Health Care

"Our faith teaches us that health care is a both a human need and a human right. Offering comfort to the broken, sick and injured was foundational to Jesus’ ministry and is central to our serving the least among us. Our nation deserves a health care system that is inclusive, accessible, affordable and accountable."

Can you afford it?

Can I afford what?

Here's what drives me: Someone very close to me has medical needs that necessitate medicines that are not affordable withut insurance. The insurance goes, and it could, then I'll do anything I have to to get the meds, or the money for them. And then I'd probably wind up in jail, and the person would wind up homeless and mentally ill.

I'd just as soon avoid all that. They can tax me to hell and back. This isn't a philosophical thing with me. It has the potential to be a life-and-death issue for any of us -- I can just feel the sumbitch's breath.

I don't know, when DC gets involved prices usually go up not down. That's what worries me.
Hope for the best, I guess.

I know they're related, but access is what I want: Medicare as an option for everybody.
