McCain: an Unstable Man for Unstable Times

F-bomb -- and more! -- warning!

An annotated rant (scroll over the underlined words for the notes, click for source.)

We're slow, but after two shady elections we've figured out that in order to win this thing we have to get more votes than you fuckers can steal.

Comments:
It's been reported locally, and I believe even nationally, that Republicans in here in MI (Macomb County, near Detroit) have been throwing voters off the rolls for months. They're still doing it, even though removing voters from the rolls 90 days before an election is completely illegal unless you've got a death certificate in hand. I read that in some areas, the numbers of removals are twice as high as the number of new registrations.

And then there's this:

Ugh.

I want a constitutional amendment requiring paper effing ballots.

Damn near went blind when this showed up in my e-mailbox today:

Good News: Dr. Dobson Talks with Gov. Palin

Gov. Sarah Palin, the GOP vice presidential candidate, made her way across Colorado on Monday. During her trip, she connected with Dr. James Dobson by phone.

Palin talked about the pressure of the campaign and the attacks on her since Sen. John McCain chose her in August as his running mate.

Gah.

"Mr Wilder remains optimistic about Mr Obama's chances for a number of reasons.

" 'I do think there is going to be a so-called "reverse Bradley effect" because I think there are some Republicans who won't openly say they are going to vote for Barack Obama, but will,' he said.

"The 77-year-old puts that down in part to discontent with Republican President George W Bush, with polls suggesting that up to 90% of registered voters believe the country is on the wrong track."

I read that whole rant. It's the first time that I've felt better and like I needed a hot shower at the same time.

Interesting.

Here's an interesting story about a woman who quit her job rather than make dispicable robo calls:

I've read reports about Michigan, too. Apparently the Republican Party there is attempting to purge voter rolls using foreclosure notices. For some reason, they seem to believe that folks who are about to lose their homes aren't likely to support McCain.

Unstable times indeed...
...we have now seen six Minnesota politician's homes hit with graffitti calling them "scum" and "traitor", demanding they resign, and referring them to Psalm 2.

Both Democrats and Republicans were hit including Jim Ramstad, who IS retiring and not standing for re-election.

May you live in "Intersting Times!"
