Flyin' the Redneck Democrat Freak Flag!
Dr. ER's sign, technically, and on her part of the yard, technically, since ER has traded his right to publicly endorse or donate to partisan causes and contentious public issues for the privilege of bein' a member of the workin' press. Somebody come tell Dr. ER what to do. And come ready to draw back a nub.

Now, who'd be silly enough to tell Dr ER what to do?
Oh, and there's an extra "http" in the link so it doens't work right.

We were contacted by the local Democratic candidate for the state House of Representatives a couple weeks ago and asked if we could put a sing in our yard. I said no, because the house is owned by the church and would be a violation of the tax code. The person who was speaking to me got snippy and asked how it was we lived in a house owned by a church. I said that my wife was senior pastor at the UM church in town. This person was silent, then said, "Oh. Sorry."
I don't even have a bumper sticker.

Been down to the Demo headquaters 3times now. No signs for Obama or Rice (our Democratic candidate to replace Inhoff). No signs, they are given out within hours of getting them.
The gal in front of us was replacing her yards signs for the 6th time. They have been stolen that many times, as have all of the other Obama signs in her Neighborhood. She's lives about a mile North of me.
Sounds like desperation.

Note that our -- I mean, her -- sign is closer to the front door than to the street.
That's so's if I have to exercise my Second Amendment rights to defend my -- I mean, her -- First Amendment rights, the perp can fall forward across the threshold.
Like that matters. Don't we still have a He Needed Killin' defense if someone is even on yer property?
Just kiddin'! I would not shoot to kill over a campaign sign.

Hey, Dr. ER paid for the stuff she got, includin' an Andrew Rice or Senate sign that's on order to be delivered to the house.

Compared to the 'other lot' - well done I think.
Geoffrey Kruse-Safford The person who was speaking to me got snippy and asked how it was we lived in a house owned by a church.
It sounds like a valid question, but I suppose if they were 'snippy' and being rude about it - it would have been rather funny to have seen their face after your reply.
drlobojo They have been stolen that many times, as have all of the other Obama signs in her Neighborhood.
Now who would be stealing them? Is there a black-market for these signs or something? $100 and the sign is yours?
Or is the evil-Palin girl collecting them all for a burning along with all the science books? :-)

I'm pretty happy that our yard signs haven't been stolen yet. We usually go through 2 or 3 sets per election cycle, even here in our little suburb of the People's Republic of Ann Arbor. We also haven't had any vandalism yet (ie. nails thrown into our driveway on election day morning, etc.)
I think perhaps around here those sorts of things have decreased because there's just no one left who actually supports McCain. On our street there's only one sign for him, the rest are Obama signs.
Anyway, a good, cheap motion sensor might be more effective than staying up all night to protect your sign, ER. :)

ER I've had to buy my Obama sign as well. Been thinking, you know how it is that these signs are put up with that wire frame thing? Well what if you got two extra ones of those and then put them almost up against the sign sort of invisable like and hooked them up to the two leads of an electric fence pulser. Then you would know exactly when someone tried to pull them up and you could jump up, grab the shot gun and salt their ass with a reloaded rocksalt shell.
Sort of give em the double whammy so to speak.
Just thinkin.
