Prince George's County Sheriff's Department should pay, and pay hard and deep, for this outrage

Need your blood boiled? Read this story, imagine it's you, your loved ones and your pets.

Mayor wants Justice Department investigation of raid.

The stupid bastards shot his dogs! Labs!

If anything like this ever happens to me, I'll be in the news, too, but it won't be at a press conference.

Cops do NOT get the benefit of the doubt. Cops ARE the front line of defense of our constitutional rights. No-knock warrants DO suck.

Screw an apology. The county sheriff's department in this case should part with lots of cold, hard cash.

Cops have been raking it in -- proceeds from drug busts, both proper and improper -- for almost a generation. It's high time the sumbitches cough it up -- and cough it up bloody and hard -- when they do sh-t like this.

And no, I don't care that they "put their lives on the line" or that "they deserve a little slack." No, OUR lives are on the line whenever we have any encounter with any cop anytime, anywhere. They have the guns. We, usually, do not.

If the world actually ever does go to hell, the LAST call I'd make would be to the cops or sheriff's department.

Worse, it says here that they didn't even have a "no-knock" warrant. Sheesh.

I say this in Think Outside the Cage, and I thought 'There's gotta be something we dont know yet...so I didnt blog it...but the clearer the picture gets, the worse it looks.

More from the same URL:

"Berwyn Heights Police Chief Patrick Murphy tells The Gazette that investigators kept him in the dark, even though they were operating in his jurisdiction."

Oh yeah, they stepped in it. They most likely don't have the backing of the local boys in blue.

Since they just made s--t up fropm the beginning, they'll probably claim "hot pursuit."

Fie!

Similar raids happen in Oklahoma City ever so often. They are never reported by anyone to anyone, because they don't happen too often to the Mayor, or even to someone who is white.

My nephew who was an undercover narc for a number of years in a large metro area, confessed to me once that the most scared he had ever been was when he was lying face down on the floor during a raid that he had set up. He said he was scared stiff that the cops making the raid were going to kill everybody in the room including him, even though they were all subdued. The cops adrenaline was so high that they were jumping around and screaming at the perps like idiots and threating to waste the whole lot of them. The police doing the raiding knew an undercover officer was in there but not which one he was, even so they didn't seem to care. He was pretty sure he was a dead man he said.

The very next day he applied for a transfer out of Narcotics. They didn't give it to him but did bring him in from the cold. There were ramifications for him personally, and he never forgot which cops were the ones at that raid.
He is still on the force in his city, has his gold badge and stays well away from hot shots and rush seekers.

Sometimes, even in America, it is just lose lose and that's it.

My experience with police is they try to live up to an image, rather than just do their damn jobs. Some of them are quite good, patient, intelligent, careful, and prudent.

Some are just dumb-ass who shouldn't be allowed anything more lethal than a plastic spoon.

When I was in VA, there was a Greenseville CO Sheriff's Deputy who was a poster child for hick, redneck southern cops. He was fat - if he had served in any other jurisdiction in the country they would have bounced (quite literally) his fat ass off the force - he was lazy, and he would sit for hours in the media of I-95 until a car with northern plates driven by an African-American went by. He would pull it over, and give them the once over twice. He did this until one of those he nailed for DWB was a lawyer out of NYC who had a few problems with Deputy Dawg's attitude and word choice.

How do I know this? I worked for a time with local law enforcement, and this guy still had his badge after his efforts at catching nefarious speeders nearly got the entire county up to its white eyeballs in a racial lawsuit.

Most of the cops I know tend to revel in the fact they encounter other people on the worst days of their lives, and that tends to rub off on how they see the world and those around them. That, and they really buy in to that "life on the line every day" crap. Last time I checked, everyone puts their lives on the line when they walk out the door; it's a dangerous world out there. Cops don't get a pass because they carry a gun and a badge.

They're lucky only their dogs are dead. Here in Atlanta a couple years ago the cops went to the wrong address and shot an old lady (she was in her 90s) when they broke in without identifying themselves. She had a gun for protection so of course shot at them -- she had no clue they were police. So then they wasted her. The ensuing investigation led to the discovery the cops involved were really dirty, had a long history of screwed up behavior (planting evidence, among other things), and, IIRC, some of them are sitting in prison now.

I remember watching occasional reports on the news and being astounded at how vehement the police were that this little old reclusive lady really had been dealing weed. Absolutely bizarre.

Grrrr.

Someone just left This link in the comments of my blog:

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/local/bal-mayor0807,0,4563211.story

Here, it says tha tthe Sherrif's deputies were not even in uniform, and didn't identify themselves as police. The mayor's MIL saw these guys with guns in the yard and screamed...

...now they are blaming HER SCREAM for the reaason they busted in without warning.

OMG.

So there's the lesson for you. If armed hoodlums in street clothes are charging your house...don't scream, because they might be cops and they might kill you.

WT#$%$#?

GRRRRR

To Mr. Erudite Redneck, I think what you need understand is, the reason your nephew wanted to quit the narcotics unit is because hes a pu**y and couldn't handle real police work. Your nephew should go back to work at the flower shop he worked at prior to entering the police academy. Leave BigBoys work to the BigBoys. Maybe in a few years when his testicle sack drops he can reapply.

Way to go, stud.
