McDonald's, McMe and McDiversity
Just had a McDonald's supper. Rare for me to eat McDonald's food. Just got burned out on it. But when I found out the American Family Association has a pitiful little boycott goin' on, I just had to.
McDonald's offense? Not "remaining neutral" in the "culture wars."
Boycott McDonalds site.
Boycott McDonald's reader comments.
Now, here's something to wash that fundamentalist bad taste out of your mouth, from a seminary-trained, white-haired Southern Baptist:
God Made Me Gay.
Peace out, dawgs.

First, I love AFA's definition of "neutral".
2. Is there ANYTHING these nuts haven't boycotted? By my count they've boycotted (from what I can tell from their website): Volkswagon, K-Mart, Walmart, MTV, Yahoo, The Salvation Army (really??), Kraft, Peter Jennings (huh?), Proctor & Gamble, Abercrombie & Fitch, The French (yes, the whole country), The Catholic Church (you have to be kidding me), Ford, Disney, and The Smurfs (yes, the Smurfs). Seriously.
Has any of these boycotts actually worked? No.
So they boycott McDonald's and wander over to, say, Wendy's. Unfortunately for them, Wendy's has offered domestic partnership benefits since at least 2006. Maybe they prefer Applebee's instead -- which also offers domestic partnership benefits to it's employees.
You know, recently I was talking to some guy who was boycotting Ford because of it's Domestic Partnership Benefits policy and the fact that Ford advertises in LGBT news magazines. So he went out and bought a Saturn. Funny thing is that Saturn advertises in LGBT publicans way more than Ford ever did. His car also had Firestone tires on it, another big advertiser in LGBT publications. When I pointed those things out to him, I think he started to understand how silly these boycotts actually are.

I've seen the protesters! They even made it to the news. Thank goodness our local media was as insightful as Alan... yeah right. There are far more important reasons to boycott McDonalds than where they stand on McDiversity.
You're probably McRight. ... But those two double cheeses and large fries I had for a change were McGood!
