Rockies still playing stoned

Arizona 5, Colorado 2. Dang it. The Rockies started the year in quicksand. Good game other than that. Oklahoma State star Matt Holliday knocked a homer -- finally. Great seats over third base, as you can see. And in Denver, Coors even tastes good.

Comments:
Someone should comment on this. it has gone too long without a comment.

I thought about commenting, but I don't care about baseball, and I think Coors tastes like (insert mad-lib style vulgarity here).

But now I must comment, because nobody else is stepping up.

*sigh* I'm a SAHM/WAHM. I'm used to stepping in when nobody else wants me too. Next thing you know, I'll be makeing cupcakes for the ER brownie troop.

(Working on my passive-agressive guilt trip...how was that?)

LOLOLOL. HOOOOT!
Whassa SAHM/WAHM??

Sorry, ER. Spent the weekend movin' into our new digs. Had Internet service Friday and Saturday but didn't have time to even open the computer beyond makin' sure everything was Kosher Friday morning. But Sunday, no Internet, and I had classwork to try to get done. Alas, I guess I'll try to do that today.

Nonetheless, Coors in -- or at least near -- the Rockies is tremendous. Of course, I don't think you can beat Coors Light, but that's me. It's my second-favorite beer. My first favorite is, of course, Free Beer.

Looks like you're enjoying your Colorado adventure, and that's good. Think of all the fun things you can do when you get situated there for good.

Speakin' of situated, we've got everything moved out of our "rental" and into our home, the first purchased home of our young, married lives together. It's exciting, and after a weekend of heaving and shifting and dragging, etc., exhausting.

Hope you're enjoyin' your time away from the grind.

You just didn't wait long enough, Teresa!

I <3 baseball, tho am a Cardinals fan. So I feel your pain, ER, but at the same time, well...my guys are 5-1 on this as yet quite young season, so have to enjoy it while it lasts.

And those were spectacular seats! Very, very jealous as I haven't been to a pro baseball game in several years. Haven't even been to my guy's new stadium yet. Sigh.

Will have to take your word on the Coors being "good"--how can you drink that stuff?

Oh, and SAHM/WAHM = stay at home mom/ work at home mom.

In my case, the WAHM is also literal. :-)

Colorado Kool Aid. . . oh, for the days of yesteryear when I was wayward youth and hadn't learned yet what real beer actually tastes like.

Oh, Nan, that's kinda mean. I've drunk my fair share of cereal malt beverage, and I have a preference. Why does that make me a wayward youth?

Naaah, not mean. Just a matter of category.

Coors, when procured near the source, is a good pale lager. Bass is a good English ale. But those are two different things.

Kinda like, you know, Oscar Mayer is a good brand of weiner, and Hillshire Farms is a good brand of smoked sausage. But they're two different things. :-)

BTW, at Lonigan's in Estes Park, Colo., I celebrated snowshoeing two miles -- a half mile at a time -- with a couple of pints of something called Fat Tire, amber ale, on tap, which I thought was good; majorly rich flavor; made in Fort Collins, Colo., but I think they sell it around here (I'm home!) not sure. I'll have to try it again when I'm not on a snowshoeing high; I might coulda drank used bath water and thought it was good at the time.

Fat Tire is available around here, ER, but can be hard to find. Byrons sometimes will have it--not last time I was there, though. And I've seen it on tap in a few restaurants, the names of which escape me at the moment.

One thing Byrons usually has that you might try is Dead Guy Ale from the Rogue Brewery. To my taste buds it's hoppier than Fat Tire, but pretty darn good nonetheless.

Ha! Dead Guy sounds worth trying for the back story alone. :-)
