Redneck map (not an ERUDITE redneck map)

I reckon this is about right.

What do y'all think? I think my favorite region is up around the Dakotas.

Comments:
Nothing??!!?!?!? The largest reservoir of fresh water in the United States is nothing?!?!?! Don't mess with us Michigander's, we'll go to war with you. We've done it before.

The KKK & Hicks thing though is dead on. ;)

Wadn't it Michigan that actually KEPT a Rebel battle flag rather than give it back to whichever secessh state was flyin' it at the time of capture? It was one o' them M states. ;-) I kinda admire the you-guise-can-kiss-air-ass attitude behind that, truth be told.

Watch who you're calling Canada, eh.

Alan is not dead on if he thinks the KKK portion IS. Have you ever lived in the south? Hmmm? I've lived in the North... (MA, WV, OH)

Contrary to what ER's map shows, the south is NOT permeated, not fairly identified by the letters K, K, and K.

I think, it reflects junvenile ignorance and lack of imagination.

"Here be Bigfoot" apparently refers to the lovely young ladies up this way?

LOL about Minnesota being Canada.

When we lived in Alabama, people would ask where we were from, and when we said "Minnesota", they would say "How do you like America?"

Some of my co-workers would give us a hard time by introducing us a "Foreign Yankees." People would say "Foreign yankees?" and they'd say "From Canda".

Re, "I think, it reflects junvenile ignorance and lack of imagination."

That would be a standard definition of "redneck."

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiick!-lahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plains! (Has a familiar ring to it...) But funny, I didn't realize Iowa had enough gays to be labeled that way. Shrug.

I am disturbed by the sissified wholly Holsteinish, Cracker Barrelesque, artistic representation of "cows" up around Montana-Wyoming. I'm thinkin' the Johnson County warriors would be mortified. And can you imagine Charles Goodnight trail-drivin' a bunch of fricking dairy cows up from Tejas?! LOL

A few thoughts:
I hope the new south is just an abbreviation of Kentucky, North Karolina, and South Karolina.
I thought Buffalo was in New York.
Rednecks don't know their geography well enough to place the lines correctly around the Western States.
Please don't give this to any other rednecks or they'll try to take a boat south to Alaska and Hawaii.

Come on, y'all! It's a reference to the Southlands' likin' of tough-on-crime, three-strikes-and-yer-out laws!

Not fair. Only half of Virginia is KKK territory.

"Alan is not dead on if he thinks the KKK portion IS. Have you ever lived in the south? Hmmm? I've lived in the North... (MA, WV, OH)"

I wonder, do conservatives have their sense of humor removed at birth, is it a genetic condition, or just a lifestyle choice? Just curious. LOL

I've never heard the story about the battle flag, ER. Though it wouldn't surprise me if it's true. We're not called the Wolverine State because there are Wolverines here (there aren't, and never really have been.) We're called the Wolverine State because we're mean, scrappy, pig headed, etc. It was a name given to us by Ohioans when we went to war with them.

But yeah, I don't get the Iowa thing. There are gay people in Iowa?

I have to say though that I'm pleased that this map actually shows Michigan. If you look at many maps of the United States (and I'm talking about those info-graphic quality maps) you'll often find that our lovely Peninsulas aren't even on the them most of the time. They'll include enough detail to show Cape Cod, but not Michigan. I think that has led to an inferiority complex, which is part of why we worked so hard to screw up the Democratic Presidential nomination process this year. You all are paying attention to us now, arntchya? Heh heh. :)

Obviously designed by someone living in Omaha.

Like Alan, I am happy to see the upper peninsula of Michigan included even if it is in the "nothing" zone. For years the three major tv networks omitted it from their weather maps. Then somebody decided it was funnier to talk about heavy snow fall in Marquette or up on the Keweenaw than it is to talk about snow in Buffalo, NY, and the maps got corrected.

When I was little, watching the weather on a B&W TV (weather watchin' starts in the cradle in Tornado Alley), the Great Lakes always showed up as white. Bein' a little bitty ER, and not knowin' there was such things as the Great Lakes, I thought it was snow!

I also remember hearin' the weather man talk about such things as low-pressure troughs, and the like -- and wonderin' why in the world there were feedin' cows in the sky! Not kidding. I had imagination way before I knowew anything. ;-)

That's great, but wouldn't the better name for Iowa be queers and steers?
