You know, I always found that smacking that carriage back was very cathartic. They should have decent mock ups on computer desks just so people have something to smack when they need it.

Wow. That'd be cool. And a bell! See, the bell was a reward, and the smacking back was the catharsis.
Trixie, I took typing in 1979 in a classroom with more manuals than electrics. You had to pound the manuals to get the keys to the paper -- and so I pound to this day. I learn well. I unlearn poorly. :-)

OK, so you think I was born typing on a laptop? HA! When I first started WORKING I was still typing on manuals and having to use carbon paper. It just hurts a lot less to use a computer keyboard these days.
