13. Pets? Bailey, weinie dog; Riker, pembroke Welsh corgi; Ice-T, black house cat; Jambalaya and Etouffee, hermit crabs.

14. Favorite food? Ribeye steak.

15. Last movie you watched? Something, not memorable, from the collection of drive-in movies on CD that Santa brought me for Christmas.

16. Favorite Day of the year? The next one. It's not messed up yet.

17. What do you do to vent anger? Holler, yell, stomp around the house.

18. What was your favorite toy as a child? My teddy bear, Bobo, who is on a shelf above this computer, 39 years old now.

22. When was the last time you cried? Sunday morning, hearing the lay worship leader at church telling a story about how hard it was for her to be a Christian in the face of family illness and confusion and adversity, but how right it was or her to do so even though it sucked bad in the midst of it all.

23. What is on the floor of your closet? A representative sample of everything hanging in the closet. Plus dirty clothes.

24. Who is the friend you have had the longest? K.Kat, who has appeared in photo form on this blog as an eastern Oklahoma mountain haint, since eighth grade.

25. Favorite smells? Cowshit. Smells like money, and home.

26. Who inspires you? People who think, and STILL cling to faith in God.

27. What are you afraid of? Space aliens and shit from outer space.

28. Plain, cheese or spicy hamburgers? Cheese, with all the groceries.

29. Favorite car? 1969 or 1970 Dodge Charger.

30. Favorite cat breed? Whatever Ice-T is, a domestic shorthair, I think.

31. Number of keys on your key ring? 9 on one. 1 on the other. I carry two, with my truck key on both, so I never lock my only key in my truck.

32. How many years at your current job? 8 years, 4 months.

33. Favorite day of the week? Friday.

34. How many states have you lived in? 2, Oklahoma and Texas, but I was born in Arkansas, I lived in D.C. for four very important months during which I caught Potmoac Fever, and I am a ghost resident of Colorado now.

What's your occupation? Freelance writer, freelance editor, marketing agent, public relations director, entrepreneur

3. What are you listening to right now? Not much. Cars driving by outside.

4. What was the last thing that you ate? A breakfast sammich

5. Can you drive a stick shift? Of course.

6. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Black. It's always bein' used.

7. Last person you spoke to on the phone? My wife

8. Do you like the person who sent this to you? Yep

9. How old are you today? I'm proud to be 40, because I'm still younger than ER.

10. Favorite drink? Beer. I like a margarita on occassion

11. What is your favorite sport to watch? Football and rodeo

12. Have you ever dyed your hair? Yep, for a play in college.

13. Pets? Just my wife and daughter.

14. Favorite food? Ribeye steak. (I'll steal that one from ya.)

15. Last movie you watched? Probably either High School Musical or High School Musical 2. I have a 5-year-old. Wife and I saw Bucket List and enjoyed it.

16. Favorite Day of the year? Christmas. I love giving.

17. What do you do to vent anger? Holler, yell, stomp around the house. (Sounds good, too)

18. What was your favorite toy as a child? A box. Any box. But the big boxes became anything my mind would allow. One wardrobe box from one of our moves became my path from the barracks to the tunnel so I could sneak out of Stalag 13.

19. What is your favorite season? Spring

20. Hugs or kisses? Yes! (Me, too)

21. Cherry or Blueberry? Tough one. Depends on the day and the mood.

22. When was the last time you cried? Last night during our night prayers, when my 5-year-old stepdaughter rubbed my arm with her hand and rubbed my leg with her foot. It touched my heart more than my skin.

24. Who is the friend you have had the longest? My cousin, Bret.

29. Favorite car? My next car will be a 4-wheel-drive, either a four-door pickup or an SUV.

30. Favorite cat breed? There is no such thing in my book. OK, I like the Tigers in the zoo.

31. Number of keys on your key ring? Three on one; three on another; one on the last (it's for the print shop/shipping store, where I help on occassion).

32. How many years at your current job? 8 years, 4 months. (You've been there eight years? Wow) I've been doin' this part-time since July 2005 and full time since last May.

33. Favorite day of the week? Sunday

34. How many states have you lived in? Five, but, check this out: Born in Kansas, moved to Missouri at age 5, moved to Houston at age 8, moved to Texarkana at age 9, moved to New Orleans at age 17, moved back to Kansas at age 17, where I lived in two small towns that year. While still in Kansas, I moved to junior college, where I lived in four places (one dorm, three apartments), then to Colby for a summer job (living with my brother), then to Hays to complete my undergrad (and going back to Colby in the summer to work, living with a co-worker), then to Smith Center for my first full-time job (If you can call 100-plus hours a week full time), then to Atwood for my first editorship, then to Manhattan when I realized the newspaper gig wasn't payin' all the bills. Then it was off to Stillwater, Okla., to get back into newspaper, then back to Hays, Kan., for another editing gig, then to Dodge City for three years and Hutchinson for two more, then to Oklahoma City for six, then to Guymon for a few months, then to Missouri to bring my Missouri girl home.
