Obligatory cute puppy post

This is what our Riker looked like in his puppyness.

(Stunt corgi shown; Riker was already almost 3 when he became my stepdog.)

More cute puppies!

Comments:
Have you ever been to Cuteoverload.com? It contains the recommended daily requirement of cuteness.

No Dandie puppies on this list, though. Dandies are adorable-iddly. But that Corgi sure has its "awwwwwwwww" factor ramped up.

Oh no! Now you've made me talk in nonsensical sounds in a high pitched voice to my computer screen.

My cats are much displeased at my reaction to a (horrors!) dog!!!!

So cute!!!!

Why is it that animals have so much more protection than many humans. Why should animals have special privileges not afforded real people? Can't these same animals be protected under normal legal proceedures? Why special consideration?

Cute puppy not.

I actually love little puppies. Sweet tender little puppies.

Ehh! Phhhht! Phht! Ehhhh!

Please no not tell Riker, or be offended, but I have a bad history with Welsh Corgis. They are not exactly on the top of my dog-to-get-next list, if you understand. Suffice it to say my friend Pam used to say of her Corgi, Zoe, "Zoe hates you!" Indeed. She was the only dog I have ever known - even trained guard dogs - to evince a visceral dislike of me without any provocation whatsoever.

To give you an idea of what kind of family I live in, I told my oldest sister this tale, and within a few years, she had a Welsh Corgi. "To be like the Queen," she said. Pfft! says I.

It is a cute picture, though.

Riker? Please tell me that isn't a Star Trek reference.

Why, yes, it is a ST reference!

When Dr. ER and I met, she had Riker, the corgi; and a hamster naked Worf; and recently had had a cat named Data. :-)

Uh, named Worf, not naked Worf -- snort.

How much would that cute little thing cost to obtain?

$300 or so, prolly.

Makes dog farmin' look real attractive, actually.

Ehh! Pht! Phhttt! Dogs suck!

$300, that's an awfully expensive meal. He looks like about $10 a bite. I'll pass.

I no longer feel odd having two cats named Rozencrantz and Guildenstern.

Alan, those are awesome cat names! I have always wanted to name cats after characters in Dickens' novels. He just has a knack for the whole name thing, and the names just fit cats somehow.
