Rocky Mountain National Park

Long, fun day with Dr. ER. :-) Pix by ER, taken with cell phone. (The mind boggles).

Trail Ridge Drive.

Scene of our picnic, at Lake Irene!

Some random mountain.

Mountain sky.

Comments:
That first one, I shot by holding my phone up out the sunroof of Dr. ER's car. I call it a "Baby Jessica" shot. (The Pulitzer Prize-winning pic of Baby Jessica being brought up out of the well in Midland, Texas, was shot by a photog holding his camera over the well hole and shooting blind.)

Don't know how much time you got there, but I strongly suggest the town of Crested Butte. Had the time of my life there in July.

How's the thin air treating you? It kicked my ass.

It was a lot thinner than when I was up there about a dozen years ago. Not that I'm in worse shape now or anything!

Just beautiful. Even the shot of the half- or mostly-eaten picnic . . .

The only times I saw the Rockies were when I flew over them out and back to California in 1994. I always fantasized living up there, away from everyone and everything. When my own life gets too much, I still whimsically envision what that might have been like, although I know I wouldn't trade what I have for anything in the world.

I assume that your were able to breath the air, Dr. ER didn't poison the food, and the upbound plane didn't fall out of the air.
Give Dr. ER my greetings.

You could be living there you know.
"Geronimo!"

So, did you catch the OSU Cowboy game and press conference? I was in the Lidos chawing down on my vermicelli and spring rolls with nuc mon and watching the big screen HD cause it was there and was on, but the sound was turned off and it was on cc. The murmering of the patrons called my attention to the screen. I'm not a fan, as you know, of any sport, but this is getting national attention(CNN, MSNBC, FOX, and The Big Pasture News, etc.).

I'll bet you have an opinon.

Second comment was a duplicate. But the pictures make me want to be there.

Geoffrey, you shoulkd find and rent "Continental Divide" with John Belushi, if you haven't seen it. He did just what you described, foe awhile.

Drlobo, since the circumstances that prompted Gundy's outburst hit so close, I have to decline to comment. Other than to say: Go POKES! And that means, obviously, Go Gundy!

And now I am off to a church that probably makes the one I go to in OKC, ,as lib as it is, look positively bunheaded: First Congregational-UCC, Boulder. :-)

I saw Continental Divide and laughed all the way through it. I think it was Belushi's best movie. Actually, as a kid I was more inspired by Jeremiah Johnson. Now there's a movie! Will Geer, the bear running through the cabin, all of it.

Jeremiah Johnson, Amen brother.

looks lovely

I'm so jealous! What a cool way to spend the weekend. It looks gorgeous. I'm glad you got the chance to get out of town for a couple days.

Nick of time. Saved my sanity.

I am glad too, that you were able to get outta town. Jeremiah Johnson that is a great movie. My little deer hunter thinks he is it.

Well I am off. Lots of things to do today. :-)
