25 down, 25 to go -- ready for the tabloids!

Went to the doc yesterday and weighed in: I've lost 25 pounds since Oct. 26, with a little help from Mr. Phentermine. I am a svelte 6'4", 269 pounds.

But it's not all him. Not eating for entire swaths of several days a week helps you change general habits. Sometimes I want to eat right even when Mr. Phentermine is not with me!

The tabloids? Last night I dreamed that I was Holly Hunter's "boy toy" in Oklahoma City! You know, she's playing Grace Hanadarko, an Oklahoma City detective, in the new series "Saving Grace" on TNT.

Holly was in town to promote the show, see, and I finagled a way to meet her -- and she was so impressed with my slimming self and manly form that she was overcome. :-)

Ha! Hey, Dr. ER and I both have celebrity fantasies. If Alan Rickman ("Severus Snape" in the Harry Potter series) or Jason Isaacs ("Lucious Malfoy" in Harry Potter) come close, she'll be all over 'em. :-)

So, like, who's YOUR celebrity crush?

--ER

Comments:
I hate to admit it because she's white trash with all the morals of a Dixie cup, but ... Pamela Anderson. I know, I know, it's shameful, but I've always thought she had a nice ... smile. She just needs a good man to love the trash out of her.

Holly Hunter?! Geez, she's a twig. And what's up with Alan Rickman? Crystal also has a crush on him. I guess women like men who have that permanently constipated look on their face.

(That should rile them up!)

By the way, ER, congrats on the weight loss. I'm impressed.

This is weird. I have the first three comments on ER's blog. That has never happened before. Have all his other readers gone on vacation? Or were they so shocked and disgusted by me admitting that I have a crush on Pam that they can't type? Fine. Be that way, but truthfully if you were on a desert island and could choose only Holly or Pam as your -- ahem -- bosom companion, who would you choose? Pam, at least, could be used as a flotation device. Holly would get waterlogged and sink beneath the waves.

Tech,

I think you're just "ahead of the game" today. My first time to log in to ER's page.

I have SO many celebrity crushes, and they date back to my extreme youth. My first was at about 6 years old: Olivia Newton John.

Others? Leah Remeni, Jennifer Tilley, Reba McEntire, Beverly D'Angelo. I used to have a thing for Jewel until I met her; OK, I still look and drool, but ...

My bride, as with many, has a huge thing for George Strait.

I admit I probably have had some celeb crushes, but at the moment I can't draw one to mind. I just think this is so cute that E.R., manly wheelbarrow toting fellow that he is, is talking about schoolboy crushes! How cute is that? AND big woot on the weight loss! Phentermine and Pondamin were my bestest friends 10 years ago, until they tried to kill me, that is. I managed to get all the way down to 136 before Pondamin was banned. I had a huge moral issue, as I had refilled my script the day before the ban. What to do? Keep the drugs, stay skinn(ier) and risk death, or put them away forever as advised? Sometimes I hate the FDA.
My weird dream this week? I crossed paths with E.R. at the Dark Tower and he tossed an emerald my way with the secrets of the universe inscribed on it. I had just finished reading The Alchemist before I went to sleep.

Re, Pam Anderson: I actually watched her shortlived sitcome, "Stacked," ahem, set in a bookstore!

Re, Holly: I thought she cute as Ed McDonough in "Raising Arizona," but I fell in love with her in "Broadcast News." That Georgia twang just sends me. :-)

Re, Jewel: I met her at a Farm Aid. What's not to lus -- I mean, like?

Trixie: I had a second dream last nightm too: I was asleep at a table in the break room, and a reporter came in and asked me to come help him with something. Groggily, I woke and followed him, but excused myselfl to the bathroom first, where I realized i was wearing no tie, my shirt totally unbuttoned and untucked, a pair of beat-up work gloves, and my dang britches were sliding off my non-butt! And as I woke up totally (in the dream), I realized I was mistaking a wall-mounted trash can for a urinal. That's what celebrating weight loss with half a chicken bacon ranch pizza will do!

Well Er,
I am glad to hear of your weight loss. good for you. I wish I could get myself going.

Crushes, I think it is very funny that Dr ER and Crystal have the same one. Tech, what can I say. I am sure it is her smile your looking at. Duh

ER, I too like Holly Hunter. But I am sure for different reasons.

Me, Nichols Cage, Kevin Cosner,
George Strait, Harry Connick Jr.
Well now I won't be worth any thing for the rest of the day.

FYI. I signed up for Beauty school today. I will start in January. I am very blessed I am getting grants to pay for all of it. Now I just have to ride thur going to school. Working enough to keep me afloat. :-)

Congrats on the weight loss!!

Let's see, my celebrity crushes...Hugh Jackman, Pierce Brosnan, Sean Connery (now, not back in his 007 days), Josh Groban, Dennis Quaid, and Cary Grant (whom I came OH-SO-CLOSE to meeting back in '79).

Apparently, I lean toward the British Isles--or maybe just accents in general. :)

Oh, and before Tech reminds me, I'd take Donny Osmond, too. :)

No celebrity in this realm or any other could compare to the crush I have on my wife...

[THAT'S how you're supposed to answer, fellas!]

Dan,

If my wife thought she was my only crush, she'd a never married me. Of course, it helps that I don't become jealous when she sighs while watching a George Strait video or simply watching any Matthew McConaughey flick.

When I mention Jewel, though, my bride points to crooked teeth and having paid a nice price for her augmentation.

I say, "I've never noticed her teeth, and I could care less what she paid for 'em."

Hots for a celeb? I would have to go with Summer Glou. Love her character on the "Firefly" series and movie. Of course I would have to be 40 years younger. I guess as an old fart I could rub her feet. That's a start.

Dr. Lobo,

I honestly had never heard of Summer Glau, but I looked her up. she's pretty.

But she's got the name of a porn star.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Man, I suppose a few years ago I might've said Mary Louise Parker. But she's got the googly eyes, and that disturbs me...

"Name of a porn star"?

Oh well, she will be a principle character in a new series in 2008.
She plays a "terminator" a la the California Govenor type..

By the way I highly recomend the TV series "Firefly" and the Movie "Serenity". Watch the TV series first and the movie will make a lot more sense. All are out on DVD.

I have several, but the three tops are from different generations. Raquel Welch. Meg Ryan. Vivica Fox. Oh, and Salma Hayek, as a bonus.

Oh, Rich, I love she of the googly eyes, too. But she looks almost like a different person every time I see her in something.

Yes, it's true, I do have a crush on Alan Rickman -- and I'll always be faithful to that -- but lately, well, I can't believe I'm even admitting to this -- but lately, I've been drawn to Criss Angel. Yeah, the magician. What is wrong with me?? (And that's a rhetorical question, so don't try to reply to that.)

Congrats on the weight loss, ER! I know that's not easy to do.

Crystal

You want him to shopw you what he has up his ... pants leg? ;-) Wocka wocka. :-)

Yes, for a start. :) And then I'd like to show him a trick or two.

Is it me, or is it getting warm in here?

Crystal

Oh, and Tech...Constipation beats Hepatitis C every time.

Crystal

Seeing as everyone has crushes on the beautiful: having been a very odd child who thought that life would be just like a forties' movie - at 8 I was madly in love with (and this is around 1971-little did I know he was already an old geezer by then!) a young Bob Hope - he was funny, nice and I thought he was absolutely gorgeous. Next was a young Henry Fonda, and after seeing him in the Gr o' Wr no one could compare.

Hey, Karen. We're the same age. ...

I used to have a crush on Uni.

(A hunnerd Redneck Points to anybody who splains THAT! :-)
