'Saving Grace'

Allow me to be shamelessly parochial. Holly Hunter, hot babe, plays a hard-livin' Oklahoma City PO-lice detective, name of Grace, who meets God in the form of a redneck, tobacco-spittin' angel.

"Saving Grace." I am SO THERE.

Comments:
Oh, her name is Grace Hanadarko. Anadarko is a town in Oklahoma.

Another one of the detective's last names is Ada. There is an Ada, Okla.

Another one's name is Stillwater. Stillwater, Okla., is where Oklahoma State University is.

Another's last name is Dewey. Yep, there's a Dewey, Okla.

Hoot.

I adore Holly Hunter. First thing I ever saw her in was Miss Firecracker, and I've been a fan ever since. She plays such strong, complex women. Too bad I don't have cable.

Hope the Ada character isn't a jerk--we could use a bit of good press.

And ER, what on earth were you doing up at that hour?

Sure do make me proud! Oh yes, it does. Great image of my State. Almost as good as that last TV series about Oklahoma that was named... what was that name...Oh yes, "Outlaws".
Kinda puts a spin on the concept of an Oklahoma Angelas doesn't it? I mean it won't be too safe to call you Oklahoma girl friend my little Oklahoma angel any more.
Looking forward to see how the Gaylord Channel handles this program.
I do admire Miss Hunter and if anyone can pull off the character she will.

Kiki: Not sleepin'. :)

Drlobo: This character looks to me to be kind of an erudite redneckette -- or at least, an accomplished redneck.

I've liked Holly H. ever since Raising Arizona! I fell in love with her in Broadcast News, tho.

"The Piano" that was acting.

I never even heard of "The Piano" until news about "Saving Grace" came out and they mention "The Piano" as her last great work. ...

I know that actor who plays the angel from somewhere. Help me please, as early-onset Alzheimer is taking over here.

Looks really good, although series like this either end up being smarmy or too good for television. I hope it's the latter, but they leave it on anyway.

He was the bartender in "Deadwood," I hear. "Deadwood" was toooo much for me to have on with my Bird still in the house.

Leon Rippy?

Rent "The Piano" and watch it. Holly Hunter is mute in the movie and never says a word. It is a wierd movie set in New Zealand I think.

Yes, it's in NZ. And of course it's weird--it's got Harvey Keitel in it.
