On Godless Author Ann Coulter
:::::UPDATED ... UPDATED ... UPDATED:::::
Here is a rerun, ER's review of "Godless" from about a year ago.
:::::END UPDATE:::::
Jesus, so to speak. It's about time.
"Godless Author Needs to Think Again -- and So Do We," by Darrell Bock of Dallas Theological Seminary, linked from David Kuo on BeliefNet -- but siphoned directly from "Pastor" Timothy -- and this is the only thing I've ever seen at Tim's place worth a link.

Dr Bock has presented far too little far too late.
I noticed that even he was personally attacked by the first commentor on his blog as a liberal apologist. Not hardly.
The dialog ended years ago. if you want one Dr. Block, that was the time, not now.
Now it is too late.
It has gone too far.
There have been too many smirks, too many smug replies, and far too much unbridled hate.
Too many lies. Too many lies. Too many lies.
What common ground can you share with a class of people that have dug up the tree of Liberty and replaced it with a Bush? The answer is none. They and their fellow travelers like Dr. Brock must be shunned and put in a form of Cultural Detention. Forgive them? Most assuredly we should do that. Trust them? Never! Silence them? No, but they must be discredited and shown for what they are.
Stating the golden rule in its Chinese format. We must do unto them, before they do us in.
Forgive and Remember, Remember and Restrain.

Now here is the cute part:
ER going off to the Southern shore of Lake Superior for two to three weeks doing Onieda and Objibway and R.R. stuff.
Taking a laptop with the high-five thingey on it so I should be able to check once in while.(if the black flies and muskersquitoes don't do me in)
So I thought I'd through this bomb in and see if you had anybody who wanted to defend the anorexic bitch or any other of her ilk and let you handle the replies.

First, to say "think again" assumes that Coulter thought in the first place. Second, to "debunk" her claims is to give her the kind of intellectual respect she craves and which she does not deserve. She is Joe McCarthy in drag, a nihilist with smoker's cough and too much peroxide in her implants. Personally, I ignore her as much as possible. There is nothing anyone can do against her because, unlike McCarthy, she is not part of an institution that can muzzle her for her viciousness.
Having said that, reading someone from Dallas Seminary - I suppose there are more conservative theological institutions in the world? - telling the world the obvious (Coulter is full of hateful bile) is refreshing, although I would agree with drlobojo that, he should have done so a day or so after the fracas occurred rather than waiting for it to die down.
Like the poor, the stupid, and intestinal bacteria, Ann Coulter will always be with us; the best way to deal with her is to turn the volume down or change the channel when her rather horsey visage pops up, and to turn the other way when you see one of her "books" on a shelf. She won't go away, but she won't raise anyone's blood pressure, either.

Hey, Geoff, before you and became acquainted, I reviewed "Godless." See the new link on this post.
(Shudder.)
(Shudder.)
I see you practiced the true grace of Jesus Christ by treating Coulter as you would wish to be treated. I suppose my response to her is more visceral than gracious, and therefore I must commend you on your ability to read and think about a book that I cannot help but feel deserves a trash heap.
The limits of my tolerance and patience and, yes, graciousness, are pushed by those such as her. Shudder, indeed.

Drlobio left out some punctuation or something. I guess he is the one headed up north. I ain't goin' anywhere anytime soon except maybe Arkansas on Saturday for a funeral.
GKS, yep I'm going up to the UP of Michigan and parts of Wisconsin. Sualt Ste. Marie and White Fish Point among other places. Pilgramage to the Edmond Fitgerald among other things.
Any suggestions? Please tell that the Black Fly season is over.
Say, I think you have defamed intestinal bacteria lumping them in with Colter. Those bateria have a use.
