FLASH FLASH! BIRD IS ENGAGED!!!!!!

YankeeBeau popped the question on their cruise in the Gulf of Mexico! Bird, of course, said, "Si."

Comments:
Forget the house. Now you get to pay for a wedding. I offered each of mine $3,000 to e-lope but none took me up on it. I figured I would save $6,000 dolars per kid that way in that the wedding would undoubtably cost $6000 ( and they actually cost more) and I wouldn't have to make them that first $3,000 loan as quickly as otherwise.
Congratulations to Yankee Beau, he is getting a jewel. Tell Bird, she could do better however.:)

What wonderful news!! Congratulations and best wishes to the couple!!

Wonderful! How romantic - getting engaged on a cruise ship, the Gulf breezes, the expensive drinks, sun, fun, entertainment . . . What am I doing sitting around here?!?
Ahem.
Sorry.
Congratulations, man. When date and event arrive, and as plans evolve, please make us aware, so we can all comment, and give advice (I remember so well all the wonderful advice Lisa and I got, and I just want to return the favor, because my kids are still too young). How's the Doc takin' it that her baby is engaged?

Dude, the entire extended ER clan is happy for 'em. No date yet. ... Now, Dr. ER and I both hope they just plunge forward to get M.A.s, but you can do that while hitched. (Her degree is in sociology, his is in history.) And, asidde from all that. They do seem to've been made for each other. :-)

Congrats to them.

I say, buy a big spread their in Colorado and have a do it yourselfer outdoors. We did this on my wife's farm. Cooked for 115 people, made the dresses and our guests said that it was one of the best weddings they had been too. Saved a lot of money too. Or you could hire my mother in law...which is the reason it turned out so nice!

Congratulations Bird and Beau!!!

Just the other day I was wondering if they were going to get hitched. :)

Congrats to the happy couple!!!

Congrats to all!

Question to the room where I'm sitting: "How'd you like to have ER as your father-in-law?"

Answer from this room: That would be freakin' crazy! On too many levels!

I'll have y'all know I will be a gracious and kind ER-in-law! 'Beau is a fine feller. Fer a Yankee. :-)

Congrats, younguns. Y'all be good to one'nother.

I'd be just fine with ER as my Daddy-in-law. He may get on me from time to time, but he'd do it with my best interest and my honey's best interest at heasrt.

Then, of course, I'd also have to learn to drink Dickel.

:-)

I gotta get him off that dang Yankeefied Sam Adams first!

Sam Adams is an award winning beer and it is about as American as you can get, brewed in Boston and named after a true patriot. I have to keep some connection to my yankee roots. By the way thanks to all for the kind comments.

Don't count on me drinkin Dickel anytime soon haha.

Hoo hoo!

Good for you, yankeebeau, that stuff stinks. Now ER, the Sam Adams brand has lots of different varieties, too -- but you'd even like one. I have been showing everyone around here Bird and Yankeebeau from last summer -- the two are like peas in a pod, they even look alike! So Bird and YB, let me know if you'd be okay with me posting y'all's pic on my blog...

How did I miss this post? I know how, really--I've been a terrible citizen of blogland lately. In any case, please accept my congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy marriage to 'em both :)
