Add to that today's news that a local county sheriff and two of his deputies plus a Chickasha police officer were busted by the Feds for gambling at a local Elks Lodge. Great day for Oklahoma law enforcement. Ah, I just Love this State.

If he's not embarassed into resigning, they oughta keep him. Thats a gutsy man. And, may I say, his wife is very gut-sy, too.
This part of the world is my original stomping grounds.
Actually, the Snyder people say he is the best police chief they have had in a long time. Now in a small town like Snyder, chances are he stepped on some toes and the circulation of his wife's picture is retribution. Also in a small town like Snyder, it is probable that the powers-that-be knew about her a long time ago. I agree that he should keep his job. That is poetic justice for Snyder's hypocracy, but if I were responsible for airing his dirty laundry (no pun intended)I would be watching my back or I would leave town. A cop in a towwn like that will have strong friends as well as enemies. In Southwestern Oklahoma, a place where the gun racks in pickups actually have guns in them all of the time, direct action is a way of life.
You just never know when you might run across a varmit out on a country road.
The story is far from over. The question is, will the final chapter be a public one?

Hey, I was in Keota Monday, passin' through. Stopped in the local store and found myself amongst a bunch of ol' boys just itchin' to say, "You ain't from around here, are ya boy?" I was ready to reply, "Nope, but I'm from right over yonder (pointing to the other side of Kerr lake), and you don't want none of it." I bought a bag of pork rinds (and an RC) in self defense, anyway.

It was probably that fancy truck of yours that set the Keota boys off. Now when I see that kind of stuff coming I just walk up to them and ask if I can borrow some bailing wire to keep my muffler from falling off. Works every time. Country people are really very helpful.
Sorry to hear that the chief resigned. There will be an epilouge I'll betcha.
