Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Stop, look and listen! Warner, McCain and Graham!

Webster, Clay and Calhoun, they ain't -- but thank God for these six balls! May Congress grow more!

Bush faces Senate rebellion on tribunals.

Comments:
OK, three good guys voted for the alternative bill. But nine good Americans voted against bi-partisan comprimise and with Bush.
Even though Colin Powell said don't pass the Bush bill 9 voted for it because a Bush toady Condy Rice said it would be OK.
Now why did they do so?
Here's what the Texas senator said:
"Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who supports the administration's bill, says he does not think it would endanger U.S. troops because "al-Qaeda doesn't take any prisoners. The prisoners they do take they behead.""
Let's check that math:
a(they don't take prisoners)+ b(they cut off the heads of the prisoners they don't take anyway)= c (Gut the Geneva Convention)
I'll bet the Daily Show picks that one up tonight.

If three senators can stand against the perpetuative onslaught of lunacy, I'm for 'em.

"Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who supports the administration's bill, says he does not think it would endanger U.S. troops because "al-Qaeda doesn't take any prisoners. The prisoners they do take they behead.""

This appears to be what passes for logic these days.

If I were president, step 1 would be requiring logic be taught beginning at least at the high school level and you must prove mastery of logic before graduating...

Step 2 would be a class on critical analysis of what you hear and read - especially media, but that's a different rant...

Did you notice that the only guys making sense here are the combat veterns?
In that catagory, I have decided that I would like to see Bob Kerrey run against John McCain for President. It is about time time we had a win-win choice for the job. It might even be a "clean" campaign.
