Iraq war spawned terrorism: Duh!

Writes Mark Mazzetti in Sunday's New York Times:

"A stark assessment of terrorism trends by American intelligence agencies has found that the American invasion and occupation of Iraq has helped spawn a new generation of Islamic radicalism and that the overall terrorist threat has grown since the Sept. 11 attacks."

Here's an idea I heard today. Rather than impeach President Bush, can the United Methodist Church be persuaded to recall him as defective?

Here's the applicable section of the Methodists' Social Creed: "We dedicate ourselves to peace throughout the world, to the rule of justice and law among nations, and to individual freedom for all people of the world."

Peace solely on the terms of barely fettered capitalism is no peace. The rule of justice and law among nations is all but unknown among the neocons. Freedom really *is* just another word for nothing left to lose, according to Bush & Co.'s neocon Gospel.

Recall Bush.

Comments:
Recall. Oust. Overthrow. Coup. Remove. Impeach. Declare null and void. Dump.

However we do it, it's way past time.

The analogy that occurs to me is that of antibiotics. When you use too few antibiotics, or stop the treatment too soon, or use a formula that's too weak, all you do is encourage the growth, mutation, and spread of the infection.

Now guys you are over reacting once again. I have been assured by by Bill OldRiley, just this morning on Fox, that the National Intelligent Estimate is "just an opinion". Now you know you don't know as much as Billy O'R., much less know the secrets that the President knows of. That's why they can say for example that torture (or rather coercive interagation works)because they know the results it has given them and they believe it. Again Bret Hume just yesterday on Fox News Sunday strongly stated that the claims that the U.S. tourted prisoners is " ...a bunch of hooey."
All of this critisim of our Comander In Chief is simply Partisan posturing by the losing Democrats who's time has come and gone and will never regain power.
Any effort to oust President Bush will be met with the contempt and ridicule that it would so richley deserve. I know that for sure because contempt and ridicule are the major elements in the conservative tool kit.
Be advised that our President is here for two more years. Nothing you can do will change that. The Democrats are all wind when it comes to following through on their threats. So long as Bush has his "base" intact he can win with less than 21% of the total population voting for him. So you got your 4 and he has his 1 plus one more, his votes yours don't, then he wins.
Julius Ceaser took over the 700 year old Roman Republic with 300 men and a damn good bluff. President Bush has more than that behind him.
Do you really think that this Administration intends to leave the White House?

Impeach, recall, Bush get real!
That's just Hot Air!
That's just wishful thinking!

Advocatus Diaboli as the Church would say.

Ah ha! parallel e-mail asking what did I mean when I said "Do you really think that this Administration intends to leave the White House?"
Did I think they were planning a coup?
Not exactly. You see, they own the Supreme court. They own the electronic voting machines. What if the '2 presidential terms' only amenndment was found to be superceeded by the original Constituion, and there was a really bad attack on the U.S. on October 15th 2008?
Or could we have an election under Marshal Law?
Couldn't be done you say?
Say Karl, they said it couldn't be done. Hee hee hee hee!

Don't give them ideas.

(I'm picturing someone from Homeland Security passing your post on to Alberto Gonzales who is thinking, "hmmm...maybe if we claimed that the Constitution was a 'quaint' document not really applicable in a post 9/11 world...")

'Tis a shame that we blew our wad on Iraq, when Afghanistan wasn't a done deal, and intervention is sorely needed in the Sudan, and possibly Iran. Oh well. Anyone ready for the Draft?
