Happy happy, joy joy!

A friend who regularly lurks here sent me this e-mail this morning:

I've gotta lay off your blog for awhile. It's not that I don’t find it interesting, 'cause I do. It's the comment section. Y'all have got to be one the most depressed group of folks in blogdom. God in heaven, y'all need to dwell on the positive of life for awhile. In the words of the old song: "Cheer-up my brother, walk in the sunshine."

My friend is right! There's plenty to be happy about -- in politics and government and everything else. Name it and claim it, y'all. Let's have some joyful comments! Red alert: No negativity today.

I'll start. I found out sort of by accident last night that a good friend of mine has been praying for me, for a specific need, and I didn't know it. I think he let it slip while we were talking about a related topic.

How. Cool. Is. That?

He asked me do him likewise for a specific need he has.

More. Coolness.

He and I are of different Christian denominations, and we disagree on politics and many other things. But we meet under the Cross -- and that's what it's all about.

Y'allses' turn. Happy thoughts, please. Any topic.

Comments:
I don't know if you'll think this is happy or not, but I have - on a whim - got myself set up to work as a roadie for the Rolling Stones concert here tomorrow night.

The thing is, I don't even like them.

Still, they are sort of a legend and all.

Dude. That is very cool, and therefore happy.

Here's a happy thought: It's 7:30 p.m. and I'm still at my desk at work, but I'm fixing to leave for a catfish buffet. True redneck culinary joyousness!

Omigosh, I think your friend was reading my mind! ;)

Let's see, happy thoughts...

...a friend brought us a sweet potato pie and I'm going to eat some...I get to go see my newest nephew this weekend...I'll get to see my mother-in-law, too, whom I actually love...my backyard should be done at the end of next week. :)

Thanks, Frenzied!

Redneck culinary joyousness update!

Specifically: About a dozen (smallish) catfish filets, two fried fantail shrimp, two barbecued ribs (short ones), seven crawfish, some mac-and-cheese, two different kinds of pickeled green tomaters, two trees (broccoli spears), four hush puppies, some banana puddin' (*with* Nilla wafers) and a tall glass of iced tea.

Happy tummy, indeed.

Happy thoughts? Let's see happy thoughts... yes how about... no no not that ...uh well there's... nope nope that won't do....ARGH...No.. I just can't do it... no no no... I can't... AARRGGH... ugh ugh it hurts...oh oh...I just can't! You ask too much of me.

Last week, one of the Deans of the College mistakenly thought I was an undergraduate student -- yet today I found out that the other Dean (who's in charge of the program I work for) called me "scary." This is a happy thought for me, considering I do look a little too much like a student still -- I could go for a "scarier" image! :)

Thanks, Becky!

Oh, coe on, Drlobo. ... Then, let JTB share a beary happy thought!

I just found out today my contract as a travel nurse has been extended at a hospital I really love, for another 13 weeks. Joy!

(You should do this more often.)

Wedensday, my sis (only 29 years old) had her surgery for cancer. Every last bit of news about it was good. How is that for happy?

Henry, that's the happiest news here.

Crystal, that's happy news, too!

Nick, those are the best kinds of happy. Dr. ER comes home tonoght after a week away, first time since she broke her hip in December, and she's fairly pumped up because she got to go the race track at Daytona, and the NASCAR museum (she's in Orlando). So, Bird's mama is happy, so I'm happy. :-)

Dr. Jo told Fatman that you needed happy stuf on your blog because you had been too morose and negative lately. So here is some.

Fatman says he will take me up to Mr. Hieder's farm in Janesville, Wisconsin real soon to see the new White Buffalo baby that was born there.

This is the third White Buffalo born on Mr. Hieder's farm. Thing is, none of the white bison were related to each other and Mr. Hieder's buffalo herd is not very large either. You see Buffalo Woman only picks one place to appear and reapper over time and only picks one person to appear to.
Mr. Heider is not an Indian, so he is a little confused about this. My Cheyenne friends tell me that this is a happy happy sign of something extrodinary about to happen, something about dancing ghost and stuff. I am real happy about going to see the baby buffalo and think it is great that he is the third White Buffalo in a row there.

The county fair tonight with the family, Mighty-Mite football all day tommorow.

Don't you love Autumn?

JTB, That is amazingly cool.

Dad, absolutely!

Praise the Lord and thank you Jesus that our Congress voted yesterday to release our Nation from the shackles of habeas corpus that has bound our English Speaking societies since the days of Runnymee! One man's happy thought.....

Drlobo, ya just couldn't resist, could ya?

The only possible happy thought I see in that vote is even more disgust at the Repubs, AND ALL DEMS WHO VOTED WITH THEM. But, any blowback will get on the Repubs.

This happened weeks ago but it still makes me smile.

I ventured into a sports bar type place with some friends and after I ordered a beer, the waiter asked to see my ID. In fact, he insisted I go back to my car to fetch it so he could serve me.

I've been of legal drinking age in this state for (lemme think a minute) more than a quarter of a century.

As I infered, One man's/woman's happy thought is another's horror.

And that was Runnymede.

Besides, all good news is inside section B.
