Chicks & Music Row DEMOCRATS

Dixie Chicks Frontwoman Blasts Bush. Natalie Maines, the lead singer of the The Dixie Chicks, has not changed her tune.

Read all about it.

The Republicans have spent the last 30 years and hundreds of millions of dollars trying to convince us that they are the party of everyday, hard-working Amricans. It's time to tell the truth.

Music Row Democrats.

Been there done that.
Downloaded and playing even as I type this.

It helps that Natalie is h-o-t. I saw the Chicks in Texas, at a local redneck dancehall, where they would no longer be welcome, before they got b-i-g.

Have you listened to the whole thing yet? At first I thought about all of the "protest" songs from the 60's, but then I realized that these didn't have that sharp cutting edge to them that Country Joe and the Fish had for example.
They have more irony. They have a more 'oh no you don't sucker' mentality than a 'F**k You' mentality. They are not revolutionary, they are re-possesive. Once art starts eating on you you're a gonner. It is a good sign.

Uh, I don't know nothin' about birthin' no baby songs off'n the Internets.

BTW, is John Prine still alive and kickin'?

"Uh, I don't know nothin' about birthin' no baby songs off'n the Internets."

Uh, What?

Prine is still alive and writting. He's an old fart like me though. He did some Vietnam War protest stuff in the early early 70's but dropped out of site and now they say he's back big time. Alive and kicking.
