9/11 is my favorite day of the year. On what other day of the year can we rely on the weather to be perfect for that unique American combination of self-pity and self-righteousness?
Ask yourself this: is there a decade since WWII in which American military action has NOT killed 1000 foreign civilians? (There might be, but it's still an interesting question.) In the current decade, we're much more than an order of magnitude above that.
Living by the sword - dying by the sword. Some Middle East religious fanatic-martyr coined that phrase. Not to say the swordless aren't put to the sword as well.
