'Support the troops; send Repubs home'

Busy today. Stepping aside.

--ER

... The Republicans in Congress and the White House are treating military vets like crap. ...

Read it all, from ol' pal Bitch, Ph.D.

Comments:
Senator Joe Biden told reporters Tuesday that "President Bush has staked out a position on Iraq that is out of step with even his top military advisers and leaves the United States few options."

"With him digging himself in (Monday), he went even beyond what I'm confident his military advisers are saying, that under no circumstances are we going to leave."

WARNING RAW nerve tirade:

I'm sorry, as an old tired Vietnam Vet who's own PTSD has been re-activated by all this Bush-Rummy shit, I am truely surprised that anyone is surprised at this kind of behavior from the military power structure. What did you think would happen?
Did you think the cat had changed it spots? Or maybe it is just that Vietnam and all that happened there and here then was some sort of anomoly.

Did you think that the military was going to spend the necessary $250,000++ on each and every multiple amputee that would be needed. Did you really think that the military gave a damn about PTSD, except to make sure that it didn't keep the severest cases in its ranks.

Boys and Girls, that's not what the military is for. It exist to Kill on your behalf when you need it to. Soldiers,if they get broken, are there to be fixed, not to be retired, they are to be fixed and to be put back into battle. Cyborgs are not such a future fantasy as you might think.

Right, we created the Vetern's Administration as a seperate thing to take care of these people. Yep, we wanted to keep them out of the regular hospitals where they would be disruptive to the normal health care system. Check out the real history on that development, it goes back several wars ago.
Spend money on it? Every politician eventually pushes the unsolvable problems into the next cycle, following the example of King Hezekiah, "Will there not be peace and security in my lifetime?" The modern version is, "Thank you Lord that it is not on my watch".

Ah yes the Ready Reserve, yes it is voluntary, except for certain Officers and critical enlisted MOS types, such as people with high high security clearances, or those that speak Arabic or Urdu or Farsi etc. If you are one of these, then you don't have to sign up. When they call up the "Ready Reserves" they call up individual people not units. Moral of the story is whatever you do, don't join the military and then take Arabic. Make sure you flunk that extra little lanuage test you get during the first days of basic training if you are one of the smarter recruits.

Yep, will you be surprised when your 20 something daughters are drafted to serve in Korea or Iran or Cuba or Venazwhatsit? Don't be. We can elect all the Democrats we want to, this tide can not now be turned back. It is time for Barbie and Ken to play GI Joe.

May you live in interesting times.

WW-III during Global Warning?

Sometimes, when I go off like that, it is kind of like when I farted at Sunday dinner when the preacher was there.

Ha. Well, unlike the president's flatulence -- reported on ad nauseum last night by Keith Oberman(sp?), yours usually makes sense.
