Presidential prayers

Can't shake it!

Yesterday, I awoke with the distinct impression that I should pray for George W. Bush, the man who is president.

Today, I can't shake the impression that I should ask the readers of this humble blog to do the same.

I harangue the presidency at every turn. At times, I confuse the presidency, which I feel compelled by differing views, especially as regards the war in Iraq (but not Afghanistan, and probably not with Iran), with the man George W. Bush, who I am compelled to love.

Redneck prayers aloft for George W. Bush.

Join me, if you will, in praying, sending good vibes, karma, thoughts, warm fuzzies and other forms of spiritual encouragement to the man.

Always take care for what you pray for.
How about I pray that the Lord opens his eyes and his heart to the consequences of his policies and personal actions. How about I pray that Jesus whispers in his heart that he was not the spirit that told him to go to war in Iraq, and never will tell him such things. How about I pray that he understands that it is never to late to turn from the wrong way.
How about I pray that the conviction of the Holy Spirit weighs heavy on his soul.
Then if he is a rightious man and in the will of God he will feel those warm fuzzies and the strength to continue, if not then those prayers might help him to get there. Because the state of his soul is between he and his Lord. No man can know what that is.
And we must remember that even Judas served Gods purpose.

ER,

DONE!

I would not discourage such prayers, Drlobojo.

I, myelf, will pray for wisdom, and a renewed sense of honesty, openness and willingness on his part -- and on mine! -- to really hear the Spirit and act on His nudging. I don't dare get much more specific than that.

But, I am serious when I say I pray for the man's very life. Otherwise Mr. Vice President Cheney would become Mr. President Cheney.

But even that's pretty presumptuous on my part.

Cheney as president! Wow. Imagine. That'd be so radical the mythical basic goodness of the American peopel might awaken from its long selfish slumber and change the world for the good for a change.

O.M.G.

I think the Lord laid it on my heart to pray for the president today to keep me from having a stroke. I just heard and saw some of the lunacy he and Rumsfled spouted at the American Legion meeting in Salt Lake City.

Astounding in its hubris and its bald ignorance -- and its anti-Americanness.

Hard, but not impossible, to be furious at someone you're praying for! It *is* tempered somewhat.

But GOD DELIVER US FROM THIS ADMINISTRATION.

Lunacy?!? LOL!!! I posted the whole thing at my place. For a guy who stumbles on even the simplest of phrases, he was quite articulate this morning... and right on target.

But, Hey! I'm not interested in arguing with any of you-- You say to-MAH-to, I say to-MAY-to. Go figure. But we on the Right had a GREAT morning. Sorry you didn't enjoy yourselves. Maybe next time.

Might also be that I was prompted to pray for the man 'cause his political life is fixin' to get more burdensome than it's ever, ever been. Really.

Glad you enjoyed the morning. The past two days in Salt Lake City mark the beginning of the end of anyone but blind followers taking anything the president, or his defense secretaty, says seriously.

And that's sad for all of us.

I guess ER you didn't pray for him soon enough to do any good.

Did ME good, which is usually the best one can realistically hope for by praying, IMHO.
