Prayer (vibe, karma, thought) request

Mama ER, 84, is in the hospital. Chest pain and throwing up. They don't think it's her heart. They think it's an old stomach blockage issue.

If you pray, pray for Mama ER and those of us who love her.

If you have good vibes, send 'em.

Karma? We'll take it.

Kind, hopeful thoughts -- always accepted gladly and returned.

People pray because people pray, whether they call it prayer or not.

What does prayer mean to you?

Comments:
She's in my prayers.

Sending word up the line about your mamma as I type. Hoep all goes well.

Not sure what to call the thing that I do in cases like this, but I've had to do a lot of it over the last year or so, and I haven't lost a patient yet.
Doing whatever it is that I do, with your Ma in mind.

Prayers going up from these quarters too, E.R., both for your Mama and for you.

When my mom was in the hospital some years back, her brothers came to visit. Her younger brother, my Uncle John, was very fond of her, always. When he got there, he said "My little dog told me you'd feel better if you would just go outside and eat a little grass."
That made her feel better than any of the medicines the doctors were giving her (the laugh, not that she went out to eat grass...)

What does prayer mean to me?

It means I'm in serious trouble.

My best wishes and fingers crossed for mom, ER

Oh no, I'm so sorry. I hope your Mama feels better, and soon. And yes, I'll keep her in my prayers.

Good prayers, thoughts, vibes and karma from -- Thinking of you.

Thanks to you all.

Prayer to me, nowadays, is not the laundry list I used to recite in my youth. God ain't Santa Claus.

The week we moved in to our house, Dr. ER and I both were told by one of the young'uns living next door that their mama was praying for a Lexus. We've called them the Flanderses -- from "The Simpsons" -- ever since.

The Lord His Self gave us guidelines on how to pray, and for what. And we're supposed to pray for people's health, even anointing them with oil, Scripture says.

But God's will, not mine, right?

Mostly my prayer time is spent assessing myself and my walk -- and sometimes just shutting the heck up and letting God be God, and myself be myself, consciously, quietly, in his presence.

Oh, and I thnak God every time the Texas Rangers win, because everybody knows God hates Seattle, the White Sox, the Yankees and all those other guys.

Just kidding. :-)

My thoughts are with your mom, too. Hope all's well soon.

Good thoughts and more to your momma.

Put me down in the kind thoughts and wishes column.

Sending positive vibes to Mama ER and all the ERlings.

:)
