Headline goes here

Never let it be said that ER danced as the Bush administration fell into tatters. It's to the point where my concern for the presidency outweighs my dislike for the policies of the man holding the office.

This week anyway, the man is more to be pitied than censured.

There's always next week!

The next supposed Christian who tells me I should reexamine my "salvation experience" is going to get an ER Special Phileo Brotherly Ass Whuppin' in the name of Jesus.

It's happened twice in the past couple of weeks -- from people who so confuse their worldly politics with spiritual matters, and who so totally impose their political views on Jesus, rather than drawing their politics from Jesus's admonitions and examples, it ain't even funny.

I'm out of energy. Writin' are hard -- and when you write for a living, or even just string words together on deadline and hope they make sense -- it's hard to blog. Yesterday, just didn't have time, especially with my computer at work on the fritz.

Dr. ER is due back from Iowa City this afternoon, and Bird is comin' home today, too! Increasingly rare that we're all under the same roof. :-) :-)

Another Dale died, the last one. Bird/we had three goldfish at one time: Ralph Dale, Dale, and Dale Jr. We lost track of which one was which, but I found the last Dale on the bottom of the tank the other day.

Possible mission today: To Wally World to get more fish! Dr. is agin' it, though. Since I HATE being alone, and with Dr. ER travelin' so much, and Bird in college, every little bit of life in the house helps. I vote for more fish.

Pumpkin carving is also a possible agenda item for this afternoon or evening.

Oklahoma State plays Iowa State there today. GO POKES! I don't have much hope, though. The teams have even records -- but OSU played the college equivalents of 8-man teams to get the record it has, and ISU actually worked for its record.

Es todo.

Comments:
Condolences on the demise of the final Dale. Okay, I'm totally with the idea that more life in the house is better than less. But for Pete's sake, how about getting them from somewhere other than Wally World? Isn't there some other, more worthy, place you can patronize and still get your fish?

Great blog!

OK, I'll call you on it. You are mixing your work world with your blogging world. "Headline goes here" indeed. You might as well write "Carey Place: Scary Place" and call it done.

Confession from a Liberal Republican (I used to call myself a bleeding heart conservative): The White House has virtually guaranteed a major backlash is coming. The country is more divided than it has been since the 1970s, and I'm sorry, but we can't blame it all on the Democrats.

Bad news about the fish. I think the name Dale may be cursed.

Howdy, Red. Welcome. Come back anytime! And, thanks.

Trixie, pbthh.

"Pull quote goes here."

:-)

Mark P., I agree. Welcome, and come back any ol' time.

You still haven’t figured out that there is no difference in democrats and republicans. Except one are winners and one a loser and every few years they switch places. Oh, one slight difference, republicans change with the times. Religion is a winner now, who knows what will work 10 years from now. Democrats sold hoola hoops until they were all bankrupt while republicans moved on to skateboards, and inlines.

Holding the "office" of the Presidency sacro-sanct is certainly not one of the principles of the founding fathers.
It is only recently that we have begun to elevate it to the proverbial pedestal. It should not be there. GW has made the Presidency into an isolated center of personal hubris. If we don't break that trend now the next guy (or gal) will be holding court in the Whitehouse. Let those that sow their fate, reap their fate.
Slick Willey got his comeupance. There was still a Presidency for George to fill.
GW has thrived on his cronyism, now let it, eat him. The Presidency will not only survive but will be better for it. Besides, Condo-Leeza Rice is waiting for her turn at being president. It could come soon if the cards fall right over the next two years.

If you want a pet fish go buy some live minnows.

Can't feel pity for Bush, as all his hard times of late are very much of his own making.

And I think that the fact of his problems stem from the enduring strength of most people's respect for the office. If we didn't care about the presidency, we wouldn't care about the law-breaking of the man in charge; if we didn't care about the government, we wouldn't care about the corruption of the party in power.

I don't hold the office of the presidency as sacrosanct. I jsut have more respect for it than the person holding it.

I'm all for a strong Congress, vis-a-vis the presidency, when the Congress isn't in the hands of thugs and looters.

We're off to Joe's Crab Shack! Ice-T wil LOVE us when we get back!

You are in desperate need of good news, ER.

The Chiefs won! That's very good news.

ER, just have to react to this post:

No. 1 topic: Blah, blah, blah. I peanut butter.

No. 2: Whoop that holy ass in the name of God, brother.

No. 3: Writin's hard? Try readin' this shit. :-)

No. 4: Welcome home, all.

No. 5: It's an effing fish, ER. What'd you expect it to do? It's a fish, therefore it dies ... quickly. Need more life in the house? Geez, you got two dogs, a cat and Mr. Dickel. What else do you need?

And if you didn't understand Mark's post, the Chiefs won. Yeppers, let's all celebrate. I was in Mark's hometown -- actually drove their Friday night during the game. Listened to Mitch and Lenny and enjoyed the drive.

Spent the weekend with girlfriend and girlfriend's family. Met 'em halfway from their northwest Missouri home. Had a nice time, even in Mark's hometown, which girlfriend says has great shopping but I know it more for bad gang problems near Mark's alma mater.

ER, enjoy work. I'll enjoy not being there. :-)
