FEMA heads should roll

The Times-Picayune of New Orleans printed this editorial in its Sunday edition, criticizing the federal government's response to Hurricane Katrina and calling on every FEMA official to be fired:

Read all about it.

Comments:
What are you going to say when they publish that fax from the La governor stating that she WOULD NOT let President Bush put the matter under federal control.

If she needs to be slapped around, I'll slap her around.

As I've said earlier, state's rights should fall to the greater rights of the people in times of grave danger.

On the other hand, could it be, her being a costal governor, that FEMA could be expected to eff things up? (I don't know that. I'm just saying. ...)

This morning on CNN in an interview with the Cajun General, as usual they were trying to get someone to blame someone for all the problems. The General said:
Hey look, the Storm had a vote here. It’s the storm that did this. It’s not anything any government did, or any individual. The Storm had a Damn vote; the storm is still there. You can’t vote that water out of the city of New Orleans.
That’s a reality folks. We need to get The Big Brain people in America finding the Damn solution and stop worrying about the first half. The second half is yet to come. Take care of the evacuates. Let’s get it on.
And, ah, I need to go to work, any other questions, over.
The commentator said, NO Sir, over and out! Thank you
The General said, See ya

Tell it to the Times-Picayune. Those crazy lefties -- NOT -- live there.

FEMA has been criticized often in the past. Usually by Republicans. I have heard them, but for the life of me I can't remember what the reason for the criticism was at the time.

Oh, and BTW, I did a google search of Mayor Nagin and Governor Blanco, and I found that neither of them have any previous experience in this area.

FEMA should know what to do.

That is an excellent editorial. It is good to see the local paper take such a strong stance.

No need to worry, Sean Penn is on the case now.

As an aside, FEMA director Mike Brown is an Oklahoma boy from Guymon.
