The ones that brung 'em

Excellent story on the immediate fallout of the "Reverend" Robertson's irreverent rambling. As a friend put it: "I'm no theologian, but don't we have a commandment on this?"

WASHINGTON -- There's an old Southern saying that you dance with the one that brung ya, but as the Bush administration found out this week, sometimes you don't want to dance too closely.

Read all about it.

Well, he is a figurehead -- a hoary one now, perhaps -- of the conservative evangelical cohort that is a core group of the Republican Party. And that's what I took the writer to mean.

Robinson nows says he may have meant "kidnap" the dictator. http://news.yahoo.com/fc/world/venezuela

But no retraction. So we kidnap him (chavez) and feed him and house him and love him. What an alternative to killin' 'em.

Kidnap him, huh? Well, it sort of worked with Noriega. Aside from the whole having-to-kill-lots-of-Panamanians to get him part.
Anybody heard from that guy lately? Dead? Alive? Certainly silent.

Isn't it just like a loose group of evangelical leaders to distance themselves from one of themselves, as it suits them?

BTW, WHO KNEW these guys are the ones who coordinate "policy and political strategy at the national level"???? We're led to believe that is Karl Rove and Karen Hughes!!! LOL!!

More Enos than Roscoe! Now yer talkin'my language.

Shoot, they just THINK Dubya is hard to understand. Can you imagine if ol' ER was el presidente?

I'd find a cousin to be my press guy:

"The president is fixin' to say his piece. Y'all settle down."

Hey Pastor Tim, in what church are you a pastor? Unitarian?

Timothy, what ARE you talking about? I mean whitie-wise??

Do what?

Rich, I'm pretty sure Noriega is in a federal pen.
