Gas price check!

Got gas? How much did you pay? Or if you haven't had the heart to fill your tank, what prices are you seeing for regular unleaded where you are?

Note the price, the brand, the when and the city. If you don't want to name your city, put something like "central Oklahoma." If you don't want to do that, comment as anonymous.

I'll start:

$2.75, Citgo, 12:30 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 30, Edmond, Okla.

--ER

Comments:
You went forward in time to Thursday to buy gas?? Why didn't you go back several years and save yourself some dough? ;)

$2.63, Sam's Club, 1:00 p.m., Monday, Aug. 29, Riverside, CA

Well, crap. I meant TUESDAY. :-) Fixing now ...

Conoco, Main and Flood in Norman, OK, $.54.

Oh, wait.... I got in Frenzied's time machine. That was the price on this date in 1976. And yes, I actually have a true, accurate memory of that particular purchase. For real.

I'll report back on 2005 prices shortly.

$2.68, Noble, Oklahoma.

$2.79, Pick Quick, 30th Street, Hutchinson -- at at 6 p.m. Monday, it was $2.59. At 2 p.m. Tuesday, it was $2.69. At 4 p.m., it was $2.79.

Tuesday, 5:35 p.m, $2.53, Central Indianapolis. They say prices are going to spike tomorrow and the place where I buy (Shell @ 49th and Penn) always seem to lag a day behind.

Wellllll, I fill my tank twice a day. Last night I bought gas in Manheim, PA, at $2.49.9 per gallon. Today I bought gas in Greencastle, PA (about 100 mules from Manheim) for $2.47.9 per gallon. When I stopped in Manhelm this evening (I didn't get gas there this eveming cause I knew I could get it cheaper on the way back home in Greencastle), It was $2.69.9 and they told me it was going to be $3.00 per gallon tommorrow. Sheeeeesh

"100 mules from Manheim"

I LOVE THAT!!!

Can I steal it to be the title of my next book??

Sunday night it was $2.46.9 at the 7-Eleven at NW 16 and Meridian in Oklahoma City. Tonight about 7 it was $2.69.9 at the same location.

Last time I filled up was at the Sunoco, exit 301 off I75, Brooksville Fl, Monday at 18:30 or so...
$2.57 per gallon. My Ford Ranger Pickup took $49.71 worth to fill up.
About 30 minutes earlier, the wife put $34.40 in her Nissan Altima at the same station.
In one day, between the two of us we spent $84.11 on gasoline, and we both fill up about every three days.
I can't WAIT for gas to go to $3.79 per gallon, at which point, I will actually MAKE money to quit my job and stay home and watch TV.
I guess the wife and I can enjoy our time together while we starve to death.
At least we won't die fat...

Although I MAY be able to use the $3.00 mark to get myself a Motorcycle...
Think she'll go for it?

So, I paid more for gas today than just about anybody?? SIGH. And I'm in an oil-producing state? That ain't right.

I attended a somewhat melancholy ass-whuppin' tonight. Oklahoma RedHawks, tripple-A baseball agin' the New Orleans Zephyrs. We beat 'em. But I don't feel good about it. Them boys don't makle a bunch of money, unless they've been sent down from the big leagues (Texas Rangers in the RedHawks' case) and most of 'em gopt homes and kin back in New Orleans ...

Dr. ER paid $2.71 yesterday in Edmond, OK.

I paid about AUD$1.30 per litre here in Sydney. That's about, errr, USD$3.70 per gallon?

Our local prices are still a wide range. This is what I saw this morning.

$2.37, Kangaroo, Wytheville, Virginia
$2.79, Kroger, Christiansburg, Virginia

Needless to say, I'll be filling up in Wytheville today.

$2.92 (reg. unleaded - $3.19 for the good stuff)
Chevron
Chipley, FL

I commute 72 miles one-way to the big city every daggum day. This is gonna hurt.

OK. So I have a bad keyboard. Sue me.

Just walked the dog over to the post office here in Clear Spring, MD and noticed the gas station across the street is advertising unleaded regular for $2.69.9 per gallon, which is a surprise to me cause they are always 5-7 cents higher than the Sheetz 10 miles down the road.

But last might when I drove by Sheetz was up to $2.69.9, too.

2.83 wednesday morning racetrac terrell texas

2.83 wednesday morning racetrac terrell texas

$2.99 in the Triangle area, NC. Two days ago the same stations were $2.45. My earliest gas memory is of $0.85 gas near Harrisburg, PA in 1988.

Today the price at Sheetz is $2.89.9.

ARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!

That's it. I'm not updating anymore. I can't keep up.

Same Pick Quick, morning later, the price is now $2.99 per gallon.

As of 1 p.m. Wednesday, it was $2.86 in Ada (we have our very own gas station cartel down here--they're all the same price).

Wednesday August 31, 2005 $3.09 Mount Vernon, Ohio

$2.78 a gallon, 20th n' Burnside, Portland, Or.
My housemate, a gas pumper, says that yesterday it was $2.67.
Eeesh. here we go.

So, of course, for the first time in weeks, I up and decided to drive around this morning to do some work-related things, rather than just slipping the 9.8 miles in to work and 9.8 miles back to the house. Sometimes I'm dummer'n a stump.

But, I got some important lookseeing done, and I got to think, in relative quirt, about a bunch of numbers I later crunched today for a work thing. So, I reckon it was a wash: a $2.75-cents-per-gallon wash.

Wednesday night, Shell station at NW 39th Expressway and Meridian in Oklahoma City, regular unleaded was $2.99.9. The top grade was $3.07.9.

I didn't faint, but I did feel woozy!

A word of advice, guys.
Watch the truck stops. They buy petroleum products in mass quantities way in advance, priced according to the futures market.
In cases of extreme price flux, they will usually be the cheapest places for a couple of days after the price jumps.
I reccomend Flying J, or Pilot stores.
Get it quick, though...It won't last long...

Rich, that makes sense. I used to have to "stick the tanks" back in a former life, but it was a small outfit that bought every few days for wholesale market price ...

Thursday morning, between 8:30 and 9 a.m. -- gas prices at both stations at NW 23 and Portland in Oklahoma City were $2.97.9 for regular unleaded. (Sunday night, the price at this station was $2.43.9)
At NW 178 and Portland, the same grade was $3.03 this morning.

This story makes me MAD. Is it the administration "priming the pump," so to speak, preparing us mentally for an eventuality the oil-entrenched administration has no problem with? GRRR.

Whoops. Here's the story I meant:

http://www.breitbart.com/news/2005/09/01/MTFH37405_2005-09-01_13-53-27_ROB146405.html

Today (Thursday 9/1) there is no gas available in Coshocton, Ohio. All the gas stations are out. The signs have nothing on them. It is eerie.

Apparently there's still gasoline in Ada--went up to $2.99 while I watched on my way home this afternoon. Truly. I could see three stations changing their prices while at one stoplight.

This weekend I'm figuring out how long it'll take me to walk to work (no place to put a bike, unfortunately).

The gas stations that were $2.99 at 8:30 a.m. were at $3.09 at 8 p.m. today. I may be looking into buying a scooter. Well, probably not. I can't afford to get a different vehicle and my car is about as economical as it can be.
